Magical Moments

Wow where to start, seeing my Husband at the end of the aisle in his tuxedo was definitely a first and a moment I will never forget.

Sadly my dad had passed away just months before our big day, thus he couldn't walk me down the aisle, but my mom as brave as she is stepped into his shoes and walked me down the aisle. This was a very emotional moment, but having my mom by my side was still extremely special.

The Honeymoon

Yes, due to Covid our dreams of traveling abroad couldn't play out, thus instead we took a trip in our own beautiful country to KZN and just relaxed along the beach side, ate way too much food, thus it was a great few days away.
We are looking at doing another honeymoon later in the year.

My Special Day

My wedding dress, was completely different to what I originally thought I would wear but it was perfect. It was a lace gown, that had a slight blush undertone to it, with flutter sleeves and a puffy A-line skirt, thus a perfect fairytale dress.

I did my own make-up as I enjoy still feeling like I look like myself. I wanted to feel like I was in my own skin and I am extremely comfortable doing my own make up (less is more)

My hair was done in classic Hollywood curls with a beautiful rose gold, blush pink and silver hair piece pulling my hair to one side. My hairstylist also did all my bridesmaids hair on the day, she is extremely talented! Lynette Van Zyl Hair and makeup.

I don't usually wear heels, but I was extremely excited about these, they were rose gold with a silver Diamante block heel, toe and ankle strap. They just completed the entire look!

I wore my pandora charm bracelet as this had a charm on, to honor my dad so he would walk with me on the day!

The Venue

At Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa, what a beautiful day it was. The service was fantastic and they really went all out to make sure it was the perfect day.
There were a few guests that stayed the night at the venue as Kloofzicht has 60 beautiful rooms, it could accommodate everyone.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

To be honest, I'm not one who worries as much as the rest, healthy eating and drinking lots of water is definitely the best bet for anyone. I tried to get as much rest for the day and also tried not to wear as much make up the week leading up to the wedding.

Wedding Elements

Our flowers were absolutely stunning, a flat brick lay arrangement with white, pink and blush pink roses were accompanied by white lilies, baby's breath and tons of greenery, it had a classic romantic feel to it. We hand tons of fairy lights to give a warm atmosphere. I had done a lot for the decor myself, thus I designed and printed my own menus, we also added white easle's to the table and printed out old wedding family photos starting from the 1920s till about the 80s. This just added something different, classic and special to our day, as well as a great conversation starter.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom wore a smart black tuxedo. He looked handsome, smart and classic (you can't go wrong with classic)

The groomsmen wore black suits.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids wore dusty pink dresses with flutter sleeves accessorized with dusty pink wedge heels and hair pieces that I made myself.

Marriage Officer

Bennie Smith, was an extremely kind marriage officer, he equally had a great sense of humor that we loved as we wanted everyone to feel relaxed during the service and he did exactly that!

My Captured Moments

Wow! Our photographer was incredible, he captured such beautiful photos. He makes you as the couple feel really comfortable. And to just feel and be yourself on the day! He is extremely talented.

The Reception and Entertainment

No we didn't take dancing lessons, I use to do Latin American and ballroom dancing throughout high school, thus there was no need. We had a lot of fun making up our own dance and practicing it without all the pressure of a trainer. We Danced to LOVE by Nat King Cole, a classic.
