The Honeymoon


We went an a quick post wedding getaway to a private reserve outside Gaansbaai in the Western Cape. Surrounded with strandveld fynbos, the cape leapord and overlooking the reserve and Gansbaai beach from our private villa. This was such a relaxing and much needed break.

We are heading off to Europe in October , a first for us, to explore France & Italy on our official honeymoon.

My Special Day

I wore Nena by Modeca. I said yes to the dress at La Belle Mariée Bridal Couture! What an unforgettable experience. I went with tradition and had something borrowed (My pearly veil), something blue (The ocean, as we got married on the beach), something old and something new combined - Pearls from my mothers wedding headpiece, transformed into an new bracelet.
Hair and make-up by Femme Fit and Beauty in Still Bay. My look was elegant Hollywood waves and warm toned natural make-up.
My favorite accessory was by far my bouquet designed and made by my sister in law Marolee Smith.

The Venue

We made our wedding vows on the beach at Morris Point, Stillbay. A place close to both our hearts. We decided to get married the beach for so many reasons, I believe the main reason is to be closer to my father, who is lost at sea. We have such a deep love and connection to the ocean and we brought our wedding to him, my Dad.

Pre-drinks and Reception
Kleinbergskloof Olive Farm is situated on the banks of the beautiful Goukou River in Stilbaai. This gorgeous venue housed our most happy memories of our wedding day.

Food & Cake

One of our dearest friends, Professional Chef and Baker Annelize Kruger took the time to bake our delicious carrot and caramel wedding cake with so much love! We did not serve any other desserts or sweat treats. Her cake was the food hit of the evening,

We had a generous harvest table and served some warm canapes at our pre-drinks. The Kleinbergskloof Olives are now a must have staple in most of our guests homes.

Kleinbergskloof served a buffet to table feast as our main course. We had set up only two long tables at our reception as we wanted to be close to all our guests. The food was amazing! Even the vegan and vegetarian guests raved about the food months after our special day.
