After postponing our wedding due to Covid .... I was so excited for our wedding day.
And it was by far the best day of my life.
I was not nervous for the day at all and just decided to enjoy the day and take it ALL in
A day truly filled with Happiness, Love and Laughter!
I want to do it all over again every weekend!
We went on a mini moon, due to covid and restrictions etc we did not want to book an overseas get away and will hopefully do the big one next year.
Living in Gauteng we decided to booked a week in the Western Cape
The first 3 nights was my favourite place in South Africa - HERMANUS
We stayed at the Harbour House Hotel
We were pampered by full body massages, wine estate visiting and relaxing next to the pool with some wine
Next 2 nights we went inland, to Botrivier to the amazing secluded Kol Kol mountain lodge.
It is TRANQUIL, relaxing and gorgeous
We chilled in the hot tub on the deck, explored the area and found some lovely wine farms
Our last 2 nights we went to a boutique wine estate between Franschoek and Stellenbosch called Alluvia.
The views were incredible
We also chilled at the pool, explored Franschoek and again pampered with a full body massage

Hair and Make Up

What a gem she is. I did a trial with her 2 months before my wedding and she NAILED it.
On the day she and her assistant did my hair and make up, my 4 bridesmaids as well as the 2 months.
Jewellery and Accessories
These were all borrowed and old - from my mom
And a necklace that was given to me a couple of years ago from my Uncle and Aunt, which was dainty and just want i wanted
Shoes
I decided this was not a priority for me.
Im a triathlete, me and heels dont go in the same sentence.
Secondly the dress covers your feet 90% of the day, i basically wore a wedge flip flop - which is SO ME!!

What an incredible venue to get married - Picture perfect!
Working with the wedding event team was also a breeze and they went out their way to all of our requests
They do have accommodation, but not enough for all the guests.
I think about 40 people can stay at the lodge.
Im a triathlete so generally I am quite fit - but i still had a few kgs to lose
I went on quite a strict diet and got to my goal weight.
I used a tan can to try get a bit more colour so i did not blend into my white dress - HAHA!

Kylie was incredible from the start, from my brief she immediately knew what i wanted and her story board was probably 99% exactly what i wanted.
We also then did a mock up at the venue, and she got it SPOT ON!!!!
The day of the venue she arrived on time and was really efficient in getting everything done
Would recommend Kylie for ANY event you need
We wanted a very natural wedding, with a touch of sunflowers

It was also custom made to his specific requirements
The groomsmen, we hired their suits from Bride and Co
I was super chilled with my bridesmaids
I wanted them to have a dress they liked, so i just bought the correct material (blue), they were given their material and had their own dresses made

ANOTHER Gem of a supplier
Jana is such a FUN photographer and so easy to work with.
There are no weird moments and she just makes you and every feel at ease
Not to mention the beautiful photos she takes
(What a talent)
This was mainly me, coordinating between all the suppliers and venue
Was a lot of fun
We did not need any transport. we stayed at the venue the night before the weddinga dn the night of the wedding
Leopard Lodge does all the meal catering - which was LOVELY!
We got to choose a wedding package which came with different menu options (vegan / vegetarian options also available)
Wedding cake was made by a friend of ours, WHO IS AN INCREDIBLE BAKER as a profession

We had a carrot cake as well as carrot cup cakes
The cake didnt only look good - it tasted INCREDIBLE!! (There was not a crumb left over)
I am a graphic designer - so this was all done by myself
Reception was at Leopard Lodge
There were fairly lights which are actually at the venue already - but can be removed if you do not want them
We had a Scottish Bag piper, who was playing for the ceremony and walking down the isle
He stayed and played while guests had canapes
Then we had a DJ - Andrew - DJ Phase
who is the perfect Dj for your occasion, he really knows how to read a crowd
We did not do dance lessons, my husband has been a good dancer since he was young, so he had to give me some private lessons! - haha!
