Magical Moments

It was all magic.

The air, the sounds, the smells and the views were breathtaking. Hearing my four bridesmaids have the time of their lives while getting ready (we've all been friends for years), to the intimate moment of prayer we had while holding hands, before walking down the aisle.

The look on my fathers face when he saw me for the first time and the tears that streamed down my handsome now, husbands face, to the personal vows, almost in sync as we mentioned similar memories and shared tears and laughs.

The confetti finally being tossed...all the roses I've been collecting since I knew that I was going to marry him.

The wedding entrance song in the background, being so relatable, to the father and daughter dance on "Isn't she lovely" by Stevie Wonder (My dad always played it on the piano and the meaning of the song was about the birth of Stevie's daughter). The first dance being absolutely perfectly imperfect, yet so beautiful and a party starter! To the epic combination of myself and my husbands favourite old school tracks.

The laughs and joy on all our special guests faces, as they enjoyed every moment myself and my husband planned together from start to finish.

The Honeymoon

A road trip.

Part 1 - First stop was Mc Gregor, at Tanagra Wine & Guest farm, beautiful open sky filled with stars (our favorite - star gazing)

Part 2 - Wilderness, at Oakhurst Farm cottages, scenes of green fields and a forest on our doorstep.

Part 3 - Jeffrey's Bay, at Marina Martinique - The Ark, the Lagoon being our backyard

Part 4 - Sedgefield, at Teniqua Treetops, ending off with wildlife and forestry as our backyard and staying in the treetops.

Wedding Gallery

My Special Day

I went for the 50's Hollywood waves hairstyle and make up being natural glam, with a darker eye and nude lip.

The dress. The first look.
Being a designer (Daph by Lisa Adams), I've always knew I wanted to design and make my own wedding dress. My dress was off white Milano satin. Off the shoulder with a slight sweetheart neck line, fit and flare, with a separate draped over skirt.
The second look.
The off the shoulder straps was clasped together at the Centre back with hook and eye and the skirt then removed, to reveal a sleeveless elegant fit and flare transitional dress.

The veil.
A cathedral veil with pearls scattered all over.

My shoes was a Aldo white strap heel and I added a organza ribbon to the ankle.

Jewelry.
I opted for pearl and gold earrings from Forever New and a pearl bracelet that was given to me by his mother (belonged to his grandmother) which would compliment the veil.

Wedding Elements

We were blessed enough to have a venue that's beauty could speak for itself - We decided to use most of the resources we could on-hand in order to save costs, which included the furniture, easles and lights.

We went for elegant and sophisticated, white linen table runners, touches of black with black tall candle sticks in gold candle holders, and black and off-white stationary (menu's and name tags and thank you gifts) with white pillar candles.

Flowers:
Peonie roses, white dendrodiumm orchids, roses in shades of cerise pink and white, white lisianthus, anthuriums, gypsophila.
Greenery: Ecualyptus, Olive branches and ferns.

Circular standing loop with blooms that was used for our ceremony was transferred into the reception as a back drop behind us.

Our dancefloor was outside the reception with hanging light bulbs around the dancefloor.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The Groom.
All black, black 3 piece suit with waistcoat, black textured tie and black shoes. Contrasting to my all white attire

The groomsmen.
Black suits (pant and blazer) with white shirts unbuttoned, for a more smart casual feel.

They got their suits from Smartmen Suit Hire in Parow.

Accessories: Boutonnières

Beautiful Bridesmaids

I got inspiration from Pinterest and wanted to use different shades (mauve, champagne, purple and blush pink) that would compliment the flowers/decor, as well as which design and colour would compliment each bridesmaids personality and skin tone.

I designed my bridesmaid dresses and one of my bridesmaids done the patterns and since we work in the fashion industry, we used our resources.

My Captured Moments

The Noah's - Chris and Clyne

The Wedding Planner

We planned it ourselves

Wedding Transport

Everything was at the venue, so no need for transport

Food & Cake

Linda Bruyns prepared our food and Ciska Cornelius-Rossouw made our cake (Loaves by Madame Baker)

Wedding Stationery

I designed the wedding stationary myself, from save the date's to the menu's. For our seating chart we collected wine bottles that we enjoyed over the past year and recycled off-cut flowers which was used in the wedding to put in the bottles, with the stickers we designed and pasted them onto the bottles.

We bought paper and board from PNA and printed some of the stationary ourselves, Post net and Wizards.

The Reception and Entertainment

We had 2 dances, from our favourite first song, Nothing by Jeremy Passion. We didn't take any dance lessons, just practiced together.

We followed a tutorial on YouTube for 24K Magic by Bruno Mars and used that as our second dance, which ended up being the party starter.

Pieter was our DJ from Soundprint Weddings.
The lighting was provided by the venue
