Magical Moments

Absolutely everything! The day went smoothly and our guests had an amazing time. We loved every moment of the day. Highlights were our ceremony, done by Nick's aunt which was personal and very special. We had a few moments to ourselves at the dam at sunset post photos which was also lovely.

The Honeymoon

Not yet, hopefully Okavango Delta in 2023.

My Special Day

Very relaxed bush wedding feel with a touch of tartan as a nod to my Scottish connections. I had a strapless dress bought at the Big Bridal Pop Up and altered by Bridal Alchemy. My hair was up (meant less stress and helped as the day was about 35 degrees C) done by Sholene from Silver Scissors Studio. Jewellery was all from my great/grandmother. I also used my mother's wedding ring as she's no longer with us. Shoes were wedges covered in Tartan. Lingerie from Woolies. Make up was very simple and made me feel amazing - Simone from Effortless Beauty Bar.

The Venue

Mongena Private Bush Lodge - Dinokeng. Guests stayed over mostly at the same venue.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

Usual exercise regime - pilates, outdoor gym sessions, spinning and walking. Started using RegimA and had facials from Sholene at Silver Scissors studio. Teeth cleaning done at a dentist and lashes and brow maintenance done by Simone at Effortless Beauty Bar. Leg wax done by Sorbet. Laser hair removal done by Cleanse Aesthetics

Wedding Elements

Decor was Proteas, greenery and a touch of tartan. Decor and most signage was done by Purple Bell. Tables supplied by Mongena. Music and dance floor lighting provided by The Morning After band (don't think the dance floor was ever empty!)

My Groom And His Groomsmen

Groom and groomsmen wore suits from Khaliques (excellent service!) Tartan ties were made by Bridal Alchemy. Flower dude had a tie from Brotie and moonbag from Etsy.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

Bridal Alchemy provided dresses - Cinnamon Rose coloured mesh wrap dresses. Bridesmaids looked gorgeous :)

Marriage Officer

We got legally married in August in a small intimate ceremony in our garden - Nigel Levings from I Do Weddings

My Captured Moments

Alexander Smith!!! What an amazing photographer, kept us laughing and had so many tips and tricks which were so appreciated. In Frame studio did our highlight video and the vibe on our photo shoot was amazing. We had an absolute blast. Tifoto did our photobooth and the photos were absolutely amazing, props were fun and classy.

The Wedding Planner

Mongena has a planner who assisted with the planning and running of the day. It was really helpful having a planner and made the day stress-free.

Wedding Transport

Mongena provided game vehicles to transport guests to the ceremony site in the bush

Food & Cake

Mongena provided the food, it was absolutely delicious. Nadine from Koalaty Cakes made our amazing cake and the cake topper was made by Retha Joubert.

Wedding Stationery

Only stationery was menus and name tags - I designed them using Canva and got them printed with Growing Paper (seeded paper). Wedding signage was done by Purple Bell

The Reception and Entertainment

We took dance lessons! My husband is not a big dancer but we had fun and people were quite impressed. Dance classes provided by 5six7eight Dance Studio. Live Band - The Morning After, amazing band and they provided all sound and lighting.
