We met on the 10th of June 2017 at a dinner party that a mutual friend had organised. Blind set ups never work I thought to myself. How wrong I was.
We immediately hit it off, with our Mediterranean backgrounds and our infectious and very similar personalities we knew that this wasn't going to be the last time we saw each other. Our love affair was one with crazy passion and so much laughter. Months turned into years and next thing we were moving into a little apartment in Woodstock in Cape Town. A year later and countless thriving plants later we got our little Vader. An all black male Dachshund with a character like no other, he is the light of our hearts and turned our apartment into a home. Naturally, we realised an apartment is no life for a sausage with dreams and hopes so now we currently live a stone throw away from The Promenade in Sea Point and love everyday that goes by.
Dino and I dated for 5 years until he popped the question on the 31st of July in Cape Town and caught me completely by surprise. A weekend stay at the 12 Apostles turned into the most romantic and best weekend of my life.
Saturday morning we were treated with massages and all the works, little did I know that my best girls were in our room setting up flowers, candles, music and balloons. After the treatment Dino dashed to the room before me for a "bathroom emergency" so I meandered to the room taking my time only receive the biggest and most beautiful display. After lots of tears and hugs and kisses we moved on to lunch that was supposed to be a relaxed family lunch, our families were there waiting with bubbles and celebrations at the ready. And what a celebration we had.
