Growing up in Stellenbosch, Bernice studied the art of makeup and hair full-time and grew a love and appreciation for both.
Coming from a background of art, she didn’t think twice about making this her profession.
She dived straight into work after her studies, where she worked with international models and photographers to help secure a good portfolio, which offered her the incredible opportunity of working as a full-time artist in the film industry for shows such as Expresso Morning Show, Afternoon Express, Top Billing, Doctor’s Orders, The Doctor Mol Show, Pasella, Win A Home, Presenter Search on SABC3, Tropika Island Of Treasure and Taste Master.
She has been working as head make-up artist and hairstylist for the Expresso Morning Show for the past 8 years and in doing so, has learned so much with working in a fast-paced and demanding live show environment, with people from all over the world.
This has not only taught her to work efficiently but to have good people skills and patience aswell.
In understanding and working well in the film industry, she secured other work in film, like working alongside American band, Faded Paper Figures for their music video which was filmed in Cape Town, Wedding Bashers, Slank, Met n Huppel In Die Stap, Mercedes, Bosch, Siemens, Checkers, ER24, Captain Morgan and Dubai Tourism which gave her the incredible opportunity to work in Dubai twice. Her love for her work not only translates well in the film industry, but in the wedding industry as well, where she takes a lot of pride in working with brides one on one and sharing her skills on someone’s special day. Working for over nine years as a professional artist, she is incredibly grateful for what she has learned and experienced and very excited to see what the future holds.
