Travel back in time to the Golden Age of Paris in the 1930’s, to the source of the style of music known today as “Gypsy Jazz”. The sound is characterised by beautiful melodic lines and harmonies, and ‘Hot’ swing rhythm, leading to the tapping of feet and a general air of merriment. Hot Club d’Afrique is an all-acoustic Gypsy Jazz quartet, featuring two acoustic guitars, accordion, violin, double bass, and vocals. Their music pays tribute to the “Quintette du Hot Club de France” founded in 1934 by the famous virtuoso duo consisting of guitarist and composer, Django Reinhardt, and violinist, Stéphane Grappelli. Hot Club d’Afrique’s music is both joyful and romantic, and preserves the mood and atmosphere of the 1930’s to add a classic, vintage touch to the modern-day wedding.
