There were plenty of moments which melted my heart on the day of our wedding.
A notable and truly touching moment I had was when Xandalee (décor and floral arrangement service provider) walked in with our bouquets, while myself and the bridal ladies were getting ready. I had no idea that a bouquet could take one's breath away. My bouquet was the perfect ensemble of all the emotions I felt on the day of the wedding, it represented the tone and theme for the wedding. It also had a pendant with a picture of my late dad in it. This of course melted my heart.
No one ever prepares you for that moment before you walk down the isle. I honestly didn't expect to feel so emotional. As the ladies and I made our way to the ceremony area, I saw for the first time how magnificent the venue looked with the flower arrangements by the door arch, the heart warming music of the pianist and the right amount of warmth from the sun. It felt a little like paradise.
Before my mother and I walked down the isle, we had a moment to ourselves. The bell rang five times before they opened the doors. As we walked in, the emotions was quite overwhelming but my mom's firm hand and support guided and kept me strong. I could feel the presence of my late dad and other lost loved family members with me.
One good advantage about getting married during a pandemic was that I could hide my cry face behind a mask lol. After the minister gave the our wedding text there was a hymn sung, "My Jesus is my dearest friend". The soloist had sung it perfectly and touched everyone's hearts at the ceremony. This was also my late dad and grandmother's favourite hymn. I couldn't help but cry. My husband was the perfect support!
The entire day felt like a dream to me. We had an intimate wedding with close family and friends who were the absolute best support and showered myself and Ryan with over enough love.
The honeymoon was my husband's little project. We went away for a few days. He surprised me with three different locations.
The first stop after the wedding day was a picturesque place named Jan Harmsgat Country House, located in Swellendam which is the perfect stop for newlyweds. They have countless pomegranate and olive trees, bike rides and beautiful picnic spots. The staff were also friendly and warm.
We unfortunately could not stay there long but I would definitely go back there again!
Thereafter we drove to Knysna and the final stop was Plettenberg Bay. We visited the elephant park, took a few scenic drives and stopped at the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park which was nature at its best!
I went for a simplistic and elegant look.
I purchased my dress at Robyn Roberts Bridal and rented the veil. The dress was on sale. Yes, I do like a good bargain lol. Robyn altered the dress to suit my body type and added lace to accentuate the curves on the right places. The final product looked way better than I imagined. I highly recommend Robyn for any bride, she will make you look and feel good.
Comfort and stylish is what I was aiming for. Therefore, I opted for a plain white block heel from Cotton On. I purchased it online via Superbalist, and yes it was on sale.
The young and lovely-talented Glenvour Wayne Fredericks created a low side bun style look for the ceremony and a fun, loose curly look for the reception. My hair was in place all day long. He created the hair looks for the bridesmaids and mother of the bide as well.
Makeup was done by @zaz.makeup also known as Zainab. She done an outstanding job with myself and my mother's Make-up. The makeup stayed in place even after all the outpour of emotions.
For jewellery I went to Lovisa for Rose gold earrings and a hair piece. They have a variety of options.
Our intimate wedding took place at the romantic Zonnevanger Venue & Guesthouse. The bridal party, family and some friends stayed at their guest house. They offer bed and breakfast and have affordable accommodation rates.
I started jogging a few months before the wedding whilst eating my favourite, chocolate. I had no particular diet. Eat what you want Brides...

The décor was all about romance with some graceful elements. Our colour scheme was mainly blush pink, with sparks of rose gold and a touch of black.
We made use of the brilliant décor team named Axure Creations. They have done our décor, flowers, bouquets and boutonnieres. They offer a wide range in their package. Make sure to ask for Xandalee, she done an outstanding job for our décor and flowers. One of my favourite looks from the day was our ring backdrop behind the main table.
The groom wore a classic, fitted black suit with a waistcoat, which was purchased at Eurosuit. Ask for Justin, he was very helpful.
Shoes were from Aldo. Shirt, tie and belt at Markham.
The groomsmen hired their suits and pocket squares from Smartmen Suit Hire. They have a variety of looks and are affordable.
My beautiful bridesmaids had their own unique dresses to suit their style. They wore blush pink dresses. One bridesmaid got her dress from YDE and the remaining two bridesmaids had their dresses made by ANNASTACIA'S DRESSMAKING (0840881641). It was difficult to find blush pink dresses during the Autumn season.
Our marriage officer was from our New Apostolic church, John Pennings.
Our wedding day was captured by the remarkably gifted Radz Photography (@radzphotography). They have two photographers which is great for both bride and groom. They captured our wedding day perfectly.
Jarryd Kleinhans was our skilful videographer. He has a unique artistic eye.
@jarrydshotmywedding is his Instagram handle.
We made use of CLASSIC CHRISTIAN HYMNS team to stream our wedding ceremony for our loved ones who could not be at our wedding. They are professional and great at what they do (Clynton Poole 0832269353).
I had no wedding planner but the wedding venue allocated a coordinator on the day of our wedding. Zonnevanger wedding venue is organised and has professional staff onboard.
The great part about our wedding venue was that we did not need to hire transport because the ceremony, reception and accommodation was all at one place.
The catering was done inhouse by the wedding venue kitchen staff. Every meal was tasty, fresh and delicious. Their chef is incredible.
our mouth-watering and beautiful cake was made by Tasneem Ceres also known as @bakedsugarcakes on Instagram.
We were fortunate to have a close friend, Angelo Fortune (@mr.angelofortune), who designed most of our stationary . He designed our wedding website, invitations, thank you cards, selfie board, reserve signs and table seating chart. He is a brilliant multimedia designer and has the most patience in the world.
Our stationary printing such as thank you cards, reserve signs and perspex seating board was done by Keenan Williams (@KCsignage&vehiclebranding). He produces great quality work.
CLASSIC CHRISTIAN HYMNS team handled the sound for the ceremony area.
El Ritmo was the band that we hired for the reception entertainment.
Phoenix Dance company is the best when it comes to training couples for their first dance. We had so much fun with our dance instructor Carina.
