Magical Moments

Wow where to start...

Our beautiful day was a "spur of the moment" decision where we had to plan the whole wedding in a matter of 4 weeks. However, once the planning started, everything fell so perfectly in place that you can't help but think that it is meant to be.

Because of the Covid contstraints and all the stress this year has bought upon all of us, we never thought that 2020 would end in such a high-note for us!

I am probably the most "un-creative" person on this planet, so I could never picture what my big day or any part thereof would look like, but when I saw my "husband-to-be" waiting for me at the end of aisle I instantly felt like my dreams came true!

We were forced to go for "Small and Intimate", and deciding on a small wedding is never an easy one, because there is always soooo many and people things to take into consideration, however, we were so blessed to be able to actually have our wedding and have loved ones with us and we felt so fortunate to be able to share this beautiful day with them!

My Special Day

I am an absolute girly girl, but don't like too much my look was quite simple!

I had a v-neck a line dress with an open back. I LOOOOVE flowery things, so my dress had flowers on the top part of the dress, with beads and stones in-between.

My friend's mother-in-law made me a beautiful back necklace with small soft pearls, which hang off my open back and my mother gave me beautiful pearl earnings which paired up so nicely with the necklace.

My hair was curly, taken to the side with a beautiful pearly clip, and my make-up was a simple but elegant look.

A huge thanks to Mantoine from Meraki by Matoine for my beautiful hair and make-up - without her, I wouldn't have felt like a Princess.

The Venue

We wanted to have our wedding in Pretoria, as all our family and friends are based there, however we are from Durban. So not only did we have to plan the wedding in a very short space of time, we couldnt go and look at any venue's because, at that time, there was still an inter-provincial travel ban.

I got hold of the Amazing team at "La Vie Lente Bistro" in Tierpoort, Pretoria. From the second I contacted Carin, she went above and beyond for us. I didn't have to worry about a thing, she was willing to help with everything and anything, she honestly made me feel like the only bride in the world.

We went through to the venue the Monday before the wedding, and wow... did the place exceed our expectations!! Pictures really did NOT do the place justice. I instantly fell in love, and the excitement levels sky rocketed.

We had a late-morning wedding, so all the formalities was over around 15h30 where all the guests parted ways.

Wedding Elements

I wanted a boho-chick look, with a dark deep red color. Our flowers was all sorts of different flowers incorporated in beautiful bouquets.

Because I am such an indecisive person, I didnt really know what I had in mind, and I couldn't decide on one specific I sent all my ideas to Carin, and asked her to just "make it pretty". Well, then came the wedding day, without seeing any decor, flowers or any plans beforehand, I was blown away by what they have put forward for us. EVERY SINGLE THING was exactly how I wanted it!

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The Groom wore a brownish suit with a cute deep red bow-tie and white shirt. Accessories like shoes and belt was a deep brown.

We weren't really fussy about what the groomsmen wore, because the wedding was so informal, that they wore what they felt like.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My sister was my one and only bridesmaid, always knew she would be the one by my side on my big day!

She also wore what she felt like because of the informality. She had a cute boho-chic look which fitted in so nicely with the whole "theme".

Marriage Officer

Our Marriage officer was a well known family friend who is very special to us, Debrah Ooshuyzen.

My Captured Moments

Oh my, where to start with the photography...

We had the beautiful Berdine from Kosmos Photography to capture our beautiful day!

As with all our other suppliers she was such a joy to work with! She is such a kind and friendly soul, that she made us feel suuuuuper comfortable infront of the camera (and my husband absolutely HATES photos).

She captured our day so beautifully and again, she made us feel like the most beautiful and perfect couple ever! A feeling that I believe EVERYONE should have on their big day!

Food & Cake

Our Venue prepared all the food. We had a delicious harvest table set-up, and for the main-meal we requested finger-food to fit in with the "informalities". BEST., just as we wanted it! Carin put together a stunning menu which tasted so amazing!

They also provided a very delicious and absolutely beautiful wedding cake.

Our guests couldn't stop talking about the delicious food and cake!

The Reception and Entertainment

We have a very informal reception. We had our MC do a speech, and thereafter some people (unplanned) just stood up and said a couple of words as well. This was so special.

Everyone was so comfortable with each other. We had a long table and myself and my husband sat on the end. Everyone got along so well, and chatted and laughed all the way.

We all ate some of the delicious food and cake, informally sat around and chatted and then parted ways.
