Altus (my fiancé) saw a photo of me on a mutual friend’s profile on Instagram and wanted to know more about me.
So after a few searches he found my profile and took a chance and sent me a message.
I didn’t give him much thought because I was at a stage in my life where I wasn’t looking for anything pertaining to a relationship whatsoever. But nevertheless he persisted and kept on trying to talk to me so I replied him from time to time but wasn't invested in the conversation at all.
Six months went by where he was, and this is his own words, “admiring me from afar”
1. Seeing my dad before we went to the chapel. I haven’t cried the whole day but when he looked at me and held me, giving me the biggest bear hug ever, that was so so special and I couldn’t asked for a more special moment with him!
2. Our “last dance” where all the guests left the ceremony hall and went to the bouma for the remainder of the night. Me and hubby stayed behind to have one last dance alone, taking in the whole day and evening and just living in the moment with each other swaying and kissing and holding each other as the music played one last time... we were so caught up in the moment we didn’t even feel the camera man there because all I could think about and focus on was my husband and being in his arms right there feeling home ♥️

My wedding look was me being in my fairytale coming true.
My wedding dress was made by Elli-Nicole, a stunning woman to work with with so much love and being my own personal fairy godmother. It was a grayish color dress that looked like a dusty blue in some lighting. I paired it with a pearl beaded veil (Elli-Nicole bridal), black heels (Elli-Nicole shoes), black lace garter that my mother-in-law made and soft satin/lace lingerie that I received as a gift.
My accessories were little diamond and pearl hair clips (Lovisa), and my jewelry were dropped pearl earrings with a single black diamond on both that my mother bought me for my wedding (before I met my husband or even had him as my boyfriend) and my mother’s plain silver ring she gave me when I was 16.
My wedding band was made by the amazing Beaudell Jewelery- Cherise was just great to work with!
Our wedding was held at Florence Guest Farm situated in Chrissiesmeer.
Most of our guests stayed on the venue since it can accommodate about 60 people - bed & breakfast.
The rest of our guests stayed at nearby guest houses such as The Billiard Room, Stasiemeester, John Jack Inn, Miss Chrissies etc.
I tried eating healthier, and drinking more water.
I went for a facial once a month for the last 4 months leading up to our wedding.
I started working out at Donna’s Fitness which consists of various types of training, but I chose mixed training that included kickboxing, CrossFit and HIIT.
We went for the classic feeling with black, hints of gold and a deep color pallet of various pinks, burgundy, black and green.
The decor were long tapered black candles, glass underplates, glass table numbers with gold, glass candleholders and tea light votives. Paired with black table runners and the flowers running along the table on top of the black sheer fabric. Black and burgundy fabric serviettes were used. (Pronkertjie Design Floral and Decor)
Fairy lights hanged between the chandeliers against the open ceiling showcasing the wooden beams of the roof (Florence guest farm). Deep purple accent lights were positioned throughout the dining hall to give it that extra magical feeling (Cream cheese)
Each guest couple received a small bottle of honey tied with a black ribbon and our wedding logo on it, tying in with the hints of gold.
The groom had his navy suit with tweed grey waistcoat made at TailorMe and his accessories was a gift from the bride, made and engraved by Beaudell Jewelry (silver tie clip and cuff links).
His shoes are from GreenCross and Socks from Happy Socks.
The groomsmen wore suits hired from Bride&Co and the accessories their own.
All the men wore lapel pins, each guy had to choose his favorite antelope that was specially made for them by Liquirish Lazer cutting and Design.
My bridesmaids wore long A-line black dresses with a light sweetheart neckline and sheer fabric covering their chest area, tying into neat little bows on the shoulders.
My mother-in-law made for each bridesmaid a black sequined belt to give the dress a more elegant feeling. Paired with black shoes of their choice and black tassel earrings.
Since my hair was down, theirs were pinned up in beautiful messy buns and burgundy flowers supplied by Pronkertjie Design team.
Our friend and Priest Mr Erik Boshoff
The amazing team of Janco at JC Click! They didn’t feel like vendors, more like part of our friends and the guests that attended our wedding. They did an amazing job and when the work was done, they enjoyed the rest of the night with us, which was pretty cool. They did the photography, photo booth and videography and we can’t wait for all our photos and videos!
We used them for our engagement shoot as well that was part of the wedding package we chose.
No we did everything ourselves with the help of the Venue owner of Florence Guest Farm and our flower and decor vendor Pronkertjie
The venue provided and catered for all the food (canapés, main and desert)
The cake was made by Sweet Joy cakes and she is also an amazing person to work with capturing exactly what we were looking for.
My husband designed and created our online invite (website)
My dearest friend Carmé Combrink from The Creative Brew designed our wedding logo.
And myself made our save the date.
No we didn’t, we love to dance together so it just came naturally for us to be in each other’s arms.
We used a DJ for the wedding and the reception - Cream Cheese
They also did our purple lighting and dry ice machine (type of smoke machine)
For us at Beaudell Jewellery, it’s all about your journey and it is a tremendous blessing that we can be part of your story.
