There are so many to name - I truly feel this day was the best day I have ever had in my entire life. From arriving in my late brothers rally car, to opening what can only be described as the most sentimental gift from my bridesmaids ( a locket with a picture of my parents on their wedding day, and a picture of me and my husband as a heirloom for our future kids), to laughing hysterically through my ceremony. Seeing my husband at the end of that aisle, seeing all our loved ones having the best time ever! Cutting our cake with an AXE! There are so many highlights ! Having my boss come in from Canada, my bestie from China, and family come in from all across the country. It just simply was highlighted by the love shared in that room and the cherry on top was everything in between- the dancing, the laughter , the fun, the custom tattoos everything!!
We were so blessed to have spent the most amazing time in Phuket , Thailand ! It was Husbaes first trip overseas and what an amazing time and country
My wedding look was vintage meets boho chic in the country.
My dress was an Enzoani gown from Sposabella which I adored and they were extremely incredible with making sure every need was met.
My Garter , like much of my wedding was custom made with similar lace as my dress. I really wanted a specific look when it came to the design and the stylist nailed it. Miranda Barnard you are amazing!!
My jewellery I wanted to keep simple, classic, and vintage so I opted for a set of tea drop rose gold morganite earrings which matched my engagement ring from Swarovski. I also had a rose gold tennis bracelet which unfortunately broke shortly before the ceremony.
For my hair and make up I had to use Alana !! I absolutely love her work and went with the vintage curls and a bronzed heavy lash look which I adored. Alana is the best hands down, her make up is light weight, incredibly done and lasted the entire eve !!
For my lingerie I went to Satin Candy. Ladies they are the best, I felt so comfortable , elegant and special with a little lacy number I got from them.
We had our ceremony at the church I grew up in - New Hanover Church
Our reception was at Torwoodlea Lodge
Our guests stayed at the local surrounding hotels
I tried quite an extensive regime but one that isn't too fair from what I usually do-
So I lost about 25kgs before the wedding. This was just from changing my lifestyle and was one that I still maintain to this day .
Spa treatments I tried going from more massages just for stress.
The week of the wedding - I decided to go for a massage, get my nails did, tan did etc. etc. But I had all these tested in the weeks before the wedding just incase .
My theme was a boho meets country theme. The main theme colours were emerald green, royal blue, blush, white, and rose gold. We accented these colours with hints of purple throughout the hall and had royal blue glasses and agate stones as favours.
The decor was handmade by myself (yes you read that 100% right) and you can check it out on my blog! We made everything from the floral stands, a hand made table seating board with scratch card tickets, a pretzel board, wood log candle holders, calligraphed perspex signs, the works. We also made a hexagon arch for one of the decks.
But I also rented furniture from Weddings & Functions by Jackie - these included a set of emerald chairs and lights.
I had trestle tables and chairs from House of Hudson . These we wanted in mahogany to keep in a similar style.
Finally we had Marquee lights and neon lights from Aisle hire it.
We ended up making a artificial grass sign for the neon lights for a bar sign the week of the wedding.
We also accented the tables with agate stones and royal blue glasses.
The colours for the men we kept in a Navy pallet.
The groom wanted to be fully suited while the groomsmen decided to be less suited and opted for an open collar with formal pants and shoes .
The suit for the groom was hired. But for the groomsmen these were all bought from Mr Price.
I loved my bridesmaids dresses. These I got from Hoidens Bridesmaids!! I loved the greek goddess style and these styled dresses really reminded me of that. I also had custom made floral kimonos made for each of them to compliment the emerald dresses.
Our wonderful Pastor Udo Lutge!
We honestly had the most incredible set !!
Our photographer and videographer captured the most amazing moments for us and we can never thank them enough for the most amazing work and for just being incredible on the day of our wedding.
We also had the best photobooth set up that came with our DJ which was also amazing!! and got such incredible pictures that we really treasure !!
Nope, that was all us :)
My brother passed away (now two years ago) but he was a rally driver. So we thought it was only appropriate to bring his spirit to the event by being transported in his rally car !!
Our Caterer was Dave Dixon and man did he do an incredible job- holy moly. We had the most incredible set of food and he wasn't joking when he said no one would be left hungry!
For the cake we used our local beauty Lara Leigh who baked us a beautiful three tier cake of beauty !!
I did , with the help of my amazing bestie- Kirsten Swanepoel !!
My Husbae and I winged our first dance . We did try attempt to practise a few times and it always ended in us laughing away and in true nature we ended up having a ball with just rolling with it on the night.
Our music was top class with our DJ Steve !! He did such a phenomenal job and really blew us away on the night !
