I think the best part of our day was waking up to the rainy sub tropical Durban! Although we knew it would push our plans of a garden ceremony back, the weather fell in our favour and was simply magical. We laughed and danced in the rain!
We had a spectacular 12 member bridal troop who danced in their own unique style into the reception! They were absolute rippers!
We played the shoe game at the reception and most of our answers were exactly the same!
Walking down the aisle was the most magical feeling in the world. Seeing the love of my life waiting for me at the altar to spend the rest of his life with me. 7 billion people and he chose me... Yay!
Yes.. We went to the sunny Sun City!
My wedding look was vintage. My hair was done by the talented Taniya Deodutt at TSMD Bridal (KnR hair & beauty).
My maid of honor and also big sister was my make up artist. I could have not asked for any other person to be beside me on my big day, making sure that everything was taken care of!
My dress was a stunning vintage laced mermaid gown from Jasmins Bridal with a breathtaking Victorian veil to match. My dress and veil were ivory in colour to add to the vintage look I wanted.
I kept accessories and Jewellery simple yet elegant.
We got married at the Westville Civic Centre.
I was a lucky bride to have my mom as my wedding coordinator. She also happens to run her own events company.
My ceremony was themed rustic. It was initially set out for a garden ceremony but due to the sub-tropical weather in Durbs, we got rain on our day! We changed the plan to a little room in the same venue and it worked out perfectly. Rustic wooden backdrop with greenery was the look we went for.
The lighting in the room was dim and intimate which added to the rustic feel.
The reception was a burst of vibrant colour and fusion. When I thought about the reception, I thought flowers. So we went with floral table cloths, gold Tiffany chairs and worked around the colours or Burgundy, Rose Gold, Champagne and a touch of Gold and Greenery. Coupled with this, we included laser cut decor and a floral background. All illuminated with washer lighting and parcan effects.
The talented Conway Photography captured our special day. We had the privilege of working with Wade and Zandra over a few years now and their service and attention to detail is amazing.
