We went for a short weekend away to Sun City. But our real honeymoon was a month later. We visited many islands along the coast of North America on a cruise ship. Our favourite way to travel.
I wanted a really regal Indian look for my wedding. I wanted something deep red and velvet for my wedding lehenga (gown). I found my perfect outfit at Eastern Enigma. My hair and make-up was simple and elegant and done by Shoba Purbhoo. I got all my accessories from various Indian vendors that sold bridal jewelery. I found them at the expo held in Mall of Africa earlier in the year. My shoes i managed to get a few weeks before my wedding at rage. A gold ensemble that matched by maroon and gold lehenga perfectly.
Shepstone Gardens Wedding Venue
My wedding regime was my usual diet and skin care routines. I didnt want to go for extra treatments that would jeopardize my weight or skin. My tip that I always do is "Drink lots of water".
The venue was absolutely amazing so nothing much needs to be done to it. But the simplicity and elegance describes me completely. So i went for a very natural, minimalistic, warm look. Inspired by the white and accented with rose gold and hints of natural green and blush pink. So the decor and flowers reflected that. For the ceremony, we wanted something natural therefore no artificial lighting was used.
I had the amazing opportunity to have Alexander Smith Photography to capture all my special moments. It was truly a dream come true. He is super talented and makes you feel totally at ease.
My planner was my husband and I. We have to commend the venue for all the help and correspondence. They definitely made planning smooth sailing.
My reception was amazing. We had so much fun. The venue provided an in-house DJ that knew exactly what to play - including our Indian songs. The bridal party also choreographed a dance for the reception which was performed as well.
