You are my today and all of my tomorrows, you are my greatest adventure!
We met each other in High School. Theunis said it was love at first sight, but I did not get the hints at first. But after a while we found friendship and love in each other. On 26th September 2005 he asked me to be his girlfriend. We have been together for 12 years on our wedding day and our love story still continues.
This is truly the best one ever. I love The Amazing Race so Theunis decided to organize me my own one called: "The De Bruin Challenge". I did not expect anything as he is very romantic. I received a range of clues with tasks & challenges which I of course posted on Facebook so that all our friends and family could follow my journey. It included going to a Spa, travelling to Sun City, Pilansberg and Cape Town and doing things like archery, game drives & wine tasting just to name a few. On our 9 year anniversary the 26th September 2014, we went to for a picnic in Kirstenbosch Gardens, also one of my challenges of course. There I opened my last clue which read: "To be continued for the rest of your life... if you marry me?" As I looked up he stood on one knee next to me and I said YES!
The entire day was so special and memorable.
If I must choose one it would be marrying my best friend, lover, partner and teammate in life!
When I walked down the isle towards my husband to be and the way he looked at me and cried and then I cried and my dad, that was a very emotional and special moment. We said our own personal vows to each other.
We also had our own choreographed first dance on our wedding song "Thinking out Loud" by Ed Sheeran.
Each and every moment spent with our family and friends on that day was a highlight!
No, but we are planning to go to Europe!
I would describe my wedding look as modern classic.
Hair : N&E Hair Studio (Mariska Spoelstra)
Makeup : I did my own makeup (Natural, with a touch of burgundy & gold)
Wedding Dress : Anel Botha Couture (my dress had a small blue flower and ribbon on the inside for my Something Blue)
Shoes : White Leather pumps from Woolworths & my mom put ribbons on so they looked like ballet slippers.
Jewellery : My mom's pearl earings (Something Old), Golden choker & necklace from Lovisa.

I actually did not have any beauty regime outside of my daily regime.
I did go for an extra facial and I worked on my glow in the tancan.
Our wedding theme was elegant industrial with a colour scheme of white, black, gold, burgundy, tan brown and the green of the olive leaves. All of the décor was DIY. We collected glass jars and cans (these were spray painted with matte black and gold). All the bottles and cans were filled with candles. The tables were draped with olive leaf branches and the candles between. Each guest received a personalized Coffee Thank You Gift (because who doesn't LOVE coffee) as well as a Hangover Kit which also served as the table name placements.
My husband (oh I love saying that) wore a tailored black tux, with a black waistcoat, brown leather shoes, belt and bowtie with matching pocket square. His brother (best man) wore a black slim fit signature suit with a white shirt, brown leather shoes, belt and tie. His groomsman wore a black slim fit signature suits with black shirts, brown leather shoes, belts and ties.

My maid of honour (my sister) wore a custom made off white Tulle with Champagne Golden Sequin open back dress & my bridesmaids wore custom made Burgundy Tulle with Champagne Golden Sequin open back dresses.
They looked absolutely stunning. They also did their own hair and makeup. They had ballerina buns for their hairstyle.

Wouter van Wyk led the ceremony and Doret Niemandt officiated.
Ricardo Liut was our wedding photographer and he is amazing! We love his style of capturing and editing. He made us feel comfortable and he captured the day exactly the way it happened - natural, raw and full of emotion!

Yes! Me, Myself & I (hahahahaha) & my mother, father and bridesmaids helped a lot!
The reception was held at Industrial Coffee Works in Centurion, we love their vibe and the food was amazing!
Each guest ordered their own food from their menu as if they were in a restaurant.
We didn't have a wedding cake we had a wedding cake cutting shooter. Each guest received a Chocolate Cake Shooter to drink with us.
I am a graphic designer so I designed everything for the wedding, from our own personalized monogram with our initials which featured everywhere on our wedding day, the save the dates, the invites, the menus, the table layouts, the labels for the water bottles and thank you gifts etc.
Design : It's An Art Studio
The second most important thing about our wedding after the ceremony being first on our list was the party!
We wanted everyone to have a good time and they did until 02:00 am.
