How did your love story begin?

Neither of us were in a position of being in a relationship at the time. I added him very randomly on linkedin. We started chatting on what's app. He then asked me out on the first day. It all started from there. He literally was my prince charming.

Tell us all about the proposal.

My then fiance booked a court yard in a hotel in jhb. Planned a private dinner with fairy lights on the trees and tea light candles all over and roses as well as roses in a heart shape. Booked the room attached to the court yard as well. Booked a personalised menu and he made up the menu with quotes from my favourite movies and wine. My favourite deserts. Got my friend to take pictures. Roses all over the room as well. It was a surprise.

Magical Moments

It was the most magical day of my life. It was truly a fairytale. Sharing the day with the most important family and friends. Walking into the garden towards our beautiful setup hand in hand towards our family and friends. The entire ceremony was so peaceful with light music playing in the background. After the wedding running out of the ceremony and have all our friends and family throw confetti on us. Children playing around in the garden. Laughter around. Walking into our reception as our favourite song played as husband and wife and then the magical ending of our first dance.

The Honeymoon

We went cape town and stayed in camps bay. It was a rainy and cold honeymoon but we managed to still enjoy the sites of cape town. Toured some of the wine farms, went to kalk bay muizenberg and the amazing Simons town.

My Special Day

It was a traditional Hindu wedding. My wedding saree was gold and my reception outfit was a green color. I didn't want the traditional hair look so I decided to go with something more flowy. So I asked for curls on to the side with flowers and shiny small clips. My make up was airbrush make up. My lipstick was a combination of pink and brown and the rest of the color of my face complimented my saree. My shoes were gold strap Sandles. My jewelry was a gold color to complement my saree and outfit. Bangles, earrings, two chains, a belt and a head piece.

The Venue

The wedding was at The Bridge Muldersdift johannesburg. The most serene wedding venue and I chose it as I wanted something resembling country and nature. Some of the guests stayed at the venue.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I exercised and ate healthy.
I did facials and nails.
I did a teeth whitening
I had a spa day for myself just to treat myself

Wedding Elements

I wanted a country theme. We had a stage built in the garden with flowers around the stage. Chairs set up in from with tie backs. We had the Indian traditional set up for the stage. We had golden dolls at the entrance. We had laters and fairy lights hanging on the trees in the garden which lit up at night. The reception had simple decor. Small jars with flowers and baby breath. Floating candles in water. We had a ladder outside the reception with flowers and decor on it. Our entire set up was simple yet elegant.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

We don't have groomsmen.
My husband wore a grey suit with matching waist coat. Peach tie and peach lapel.
He got his suit from kaliks.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

We don't have bridesmaids
My sister stands behind me on stage. She did he hair at sorbet and makeup and red square. Her outfit was an Indian royal blue outfit.

Marriage Officer

We use a priest that does indian weddings

My Captured Moments

Kavo R Photographer was our photographer - excellent guy
Video - time line videos part of the venue suppliers

The Wedding Planner

The owner at the venue as well as my uncle whom was coordinating the wedding throughout the day.

Wedding Transport

We both got dropped off at the venue early on as we had to dress up at the venue as my hair and make up etc was going to meet me there

Food & Cake

Part of the menue was made at the venue mainly chicken and veggie options and then we ordered a vegetarian indian option as well as we mainly fast during the wedding time. We had a four tiered wedding cake vanilla, red velvet, coffee and oreo. Made by T loves cakes and she's based in parkhurst. We gave out chocolates as wedding favours on each table.

Wedding Stationery

We ptinted our out seating chart.
The invites we decided to go with e invites. We designed a website in which we sent guests the link. They could go in accept, look at food choices, gift registry as well as directions.

The Reception and Entertainment

We had our first dance and invited guests to join us at the end and then we went straight into the party. We didn't take dance lessons as I've done ballroom dancing before so we just practiced. Sound and lighting was part of the venue package. We had a dj. We had given him a list of a few songs and then asked him to improvise as well. As he liked he same sort of music that we did.
