Jerome & I met at a mutual friend's 30th Birthday party in Cape Town. I decided at the last minute to go as it was a Friday night & I was a tired after work. When I arrived he was one of the first people I saw and I immediately I wanted to get to know him better. We both arrived with other poeple, but in the end we ended up dating shortly after that first meeting.
Jerome planned a surprise proposal the day before his birthday. I had booked a birthday dinner for him on the Saturday & he used that as his cover.
He arranged with the hotel staff at The Twelve Apostles Hotel & created a beautiful surprise proposal.
He hid my ring in a closed oyster shell with pearls which the hotel served us as a "complimentary" starter.
After I opened the oyster & realised what was happening the hotel brought out champagne, flowers & a teddy bear. All arranged by Jerome. He even arrange a photographer to capture the moment.
To top it all off he arranged for my parents & his parents to join us the day after for a celebratory brunch.
It's difficult to pick one highlight as the whole day was a dream come true for us both. We planned our wedding in 2 months, but we've been preparing for it for over a year (in faith).
I loved every moment from the getting ready, to the ceremony and the reception.
Every moment was a highlight!
We spent two days at the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa after our wedding after which we flew to Thailand where we spent 10 days on Honeymoon.
We love exploring & adventure so we did everything from parasailing & snorkeling to enyoying bike rides & massages. Not forgetting shopping.
I wanted a royal (regal) look. Something classic that would still look beautiful in 10 year's time.
My dress was designed by Cindy Bam and was made of Spanish beaded lace with a long train. We paired it with a plain, but extra long veil as he dress was the focal point. We ended of the look with some customed designed crystal pins for my hair which Cindy Bam designed herself.
My shoes were rose gold Steve Madden heels which Jerome surprised me with on the night of our engagement.
The only jewelery I wore were diamanté earings from Pandora & my weddings rings.
My garter was from bought at Bride & Co.
I also had a pearl covered handbag by Colette Hayman & my fragance for the day was Chanel's Chance.
My makeup was glamorous with the focus on my eyes & a bold red lip. My hair was done in a bohemian bun, which kept my hair out of my face.
We got married at the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa, which is also were Jerome proposed.
Most of outlr guests stayed over in private accommodation in Camps Bay & Sea Point.
Many of our guests flewnin from Johannesburg, Durban & overseas.
I follow a strict, but easy to maintain beauty regiment. Leading up to the wedding I did two facials - one 3 weeks before & another 4 days before the wedding.
I continued with my firness routine as I already exercise on a regular basis. So there were no crash diets.
The Style of the Wedding Ceremony & Reception was soft and romantic with loads of fresh white and pink rose petals scattered around the area leading to the ceremony. The fairy light backdrop and cascading fabric added to the whimsical ambiance of the beautiful venue where the sun sets over the sea
The wedding colours were navy & white with a touch of rose gold. Out flowers were white orchids, hydrangeas & king proteas with soft pink roses. We included motive candles, crystal candelabras & rose gold charger plates.
The groom wore a navy blue suit from Zara with tan Steve Madden shoes. He rounded his look off with a tan belt, navy bow tie & a crisp white shirt.
Jerome loves watches so he wore his Armani watch & a fragrance by Abercrombie & Fitch.
The groomsmen all wore black suits with rose gold pocket sqaures. Both dads wore navy blue suits with the same rose gold pocket sqaures.
I wanted a more glamorous look for the brodesmaids & we couldn't find anything locally that fitted what I had in mind. I wanted them to be dressed in the color Blush which is the matte version of rose gold.
We ended up buying dresses from Asos.com & had it imported. The twp bridesmaids wore a blush coloured dress with a train & my maid of honor wore a blush colored dress with lace details.
There hair was done & soft, loose waves and their makeup was kept natural - but polished.
We were married by a pastor who was a family friend of Jerome's for many years.
It was very special to us to have someone who knew the family officiate outlr wedding.
Our photographer is very special to us. She used to be a colleague of mine until she decided to follow her dream and become a photographer. She hs been with us from the beginning from our couples shoot, engagement shoot right up until the wedding.

We also had a videographer who captured our special day. He was a real star as we only finalised him a few days before the wedding. Initially we weren't going to have a videographer, but last minute we realised we needed to have a video.
The hotel provided is with two wedding coordinators who also assisted us with the arrangements. They provided us with a list of suppliers which they've worked with before - which helped a lot.
Other than that Jerome & I were very hands on and we planned & executed the finer details of the wedding ourselves with the help of great suppliers & family.
I got dressed at the hotel so I didn't need a car. Jerome got dressed at a house in Camps Bay.
His cousin arranged a Mercedes Benz AMG coupe which was Jerome's wedding car. This was a gift from his cousin to Jerome.
The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa prepared all of the food. Our wedding cake was done by a young lady who runs her own company called Cake Me Happy.
The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa did all of the catering.
Our weddig cake was made by a young lady called Elmarie. She runs her own baking company called, Cake Me Happy. She is a pastry chef by profession but also bakes for her own company.
We had a string quartet who played during the ceremony and while the canapes were being served.
At the reception we had a DJ. Our family also surprised us with an Indian inspired dance which was amazing.
