It began like any Cape Town love story...boy meets girl at a party and the rest is history!
He proposed in New York City...this was our first overseas trip and it was to my dream destination (NYC) in 2015. I was so shocked and completely surprised by the proposal. He was so nervous. It is one of my favourite days, till this day.
I had a subtle Beauty and the Beast theme. When we walked in as Mr & Mrs, we did our first dance to John Legend and Ariana Grandes version of Beauty and the Beast which was so romantic and all eyes were on us. My white cape accessorised my beautiful wedding dress perfectly and received many compliments from our guests. The whole day was memorable for me. From the food, the photobooth, and the dance floor never being left empty. It was one big jol! I wish I could relive the day.
Yes! We're currently on honeymoon in Mauritius :) 30 Aug - 6 Sep 2017
I have an hour glass figure so went for a fit and flare dress which had a lot of beaded work on it. The material was a satin tulle, with a beautiful detailed back. Due to it being a Winter wedding and my dress having no sleeves, I opted to get a white chiffon cape made, which was something out of a fairytale...I got told "you look like snow white with this cape" and "something out of a fairytale". It was a big hit and all eyes were on me and my Cape. I love being different and opposed to the usual fur covering or long sleeved dress, the cape was my way in bringing my fairytale wedding to life. My shoes were a champagne gold bringing sparkle into my fairytale and my bold statement earing was accompanied by a fine chain with a double diamanté. Simple but elegant. I also wore a bracelet and my white Anne Klein watch. My hair was in an upstyle with side swept bangs. My eyes are my favourite feature so of cause this was emphasized when having my make-up done.
The ceremony was held at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Newlands, and the reception, at the beautiful Suikerbosie Restaurant in Houtbay.
Lots of gym. A mild chemical peel facial a month before the wedding. A teeth polish a week before the wedding. Lots of smiles and excitement - staying positive and not letting the stress get to me.
Fairy lights and draping was a must for my wedding day. The venue itself is very beautiful so I could get away with "less is more". Each table had a mirror plate centre piece with a glass vase and under water orchid, accompanied by 3 glass candle goblets and 3 gold frames with pictures of the bride and the groom. A white table cloth, navy napkins, gold tiffany chairs and a ferrero roche choc on each plate. The bride and grooms table (our table) had a gold sequenced table cloth, a mr and mrs sign with 10 glass candle goblets and navy napkins. The theme was Navy and Gold.
Dark navy tailor made suit by Tucs Tailors in Blue Route Mall. They each wore a white shirt, ivory tie and dark brown shoes.
My bridesmaids wore a blush pink dress from YDE. We bought the dresses in February and then in June they decided to have sleeves added. We then took it to a dressmaker and it still looked stunning. Their shoes were a glitzy gold and they accessorised with a diamanté gold stud flower earing and thin gold bracelet. Their make-up was navy and gold on the eye and a nude pink lip, with the perfect amount of highlighter and contouring.

PITS - Pie In The Sky - BEST VIDEOGRAPHER AND PHOTOGRAPHER EVER! We also made use of their green screen photobooth option which was so much fun. Our guests loved the photo booth and got so many amazing pics to take home.
Nope. I wanted to save costs, so I handled everything. From the cake, to decor, to the hiring of make-up artist, hair, videographers, photographers, etc. I'm good at planning and had really reliable suppliers which made things easy.
We made use of SA Classics. A Rolls Royce and Bentley were our classic cars of choice. They gave excellent service!
Catering was done by the venue - Suikerbossie Restaurant Houtbay.
Our cake was done by my ex colleague - Shamielah at SweetToof. We had a beautiful red velvet with cream cheese icing cake - rosette styled piping, accompanied by 120 red velvet cupcakes which were later boxed and handed to guests as Thank You gifts.
DIY & China Town. My husband and I just made use of our creative talents, with the help of China Town. My wedding invites was done by my aunts sister in-law - Bernie - who just loves being creative. Then the seating plan my husband designed and got printed by Minuteman Press.
My mom assisted my husband and I with learning how to walce during our dance, but we pretty much taught ourselves. Our DJ was my husbands uncle - DJ Stan November - who literally was the best DJ ever. The dance floor was never empty. It was like a full on party/celebration, that even my husband and I didn't want to leave.
