How did your love story begin?

We worked at the same company…I noticed him a few times walking in the building but always found him to be quite aloof and egotistical with “Space Jam” kinda shoes lol. Anyway, some time passed and in 2013 we happened to attend the same charity event at a local school upliftment project. He kept talking to me and cheering me on during the basketball match with the less fortunate school kids.
Then I took real notice of this kind-hearted, kid loving guy and was quite intrigued. We began chatting and going out as friends, just having fun. Through all our adventures as “friends” feelings grew stronger… And on New Year’s eve he introduced me to his mum as his my surprise and much excitement…and that’s how our love story began…

Tell us all about the proposal.

It was a beautiful sunny day. I was at Breakfast with some friends(no boyfriend present) at The Oyster Box, it was my birthday. There was an amazing set up for Brekkie – balloons and Champagne! All I kept Thinking was- my God best birthday ever! We then pop the bottle of champagne and my friends insisted We walked down closer to the beach, by the poolside…I was a bit hesitant as it was quite sunny and sweaty. They basically shoved me down the stairs to the poolside…so I stand there and I'm facing the other way (back towards the stairs) and I'm standing there while they distract me, taking pictures of me with my balloons.. then I turned around and my amazing man was walking down the stairs and the next thing he was on one knee with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! Sweat nerves and all I could not speak and was crying with happiness so much that he had to ask me if that was a yes! I pulled myself together and said a big soppy yes!

Magical Moments

My happiest moment was when we made our entrance to the our reception.
It was an overwhelming feeling that all those guests were there for us, and it felt amazing to see everyone so happy for us.
Walking in as an official married couple felt so surreal.

My Special Day

I am a traditional lady, I wanted a timeless wedding look. Traditional ballroom princess gown, sweetheart neckline and plenty of sparkle and a cathedral veil sprinkled with Swarovski crystals.
My makeup was soft and natural tones for an elegant look.
My hair was swept into an updo by Usha at Golden Scissors salon
Very minimal jewellery and accessories as my dress was Glam princess.

The Venue

We got married at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Glenmore and our reception was held at the Southern Sun Maharani hotel in the beautiful Tugela room.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My Groom wore a White tux with a black satin lapel, on black waistcoat, white winged collar shirt and black bow-tie.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

We chose golden honey sequinned dresses- long mermaid style with soft curls in their hair. My girls looked great and they loved their dresses!

Food & Cake

The food was prepared by the Hotel, every dish was absolutely delicious.

Wedding Stationery

This was my very own DIY project...I sourced laser cut lace designed invites and menu cards and added subtle embellishments
