Waldi likes to be different. We were in the middle of our surgery rotation and very stressed and over worked. He mentioned a few times that we must do something fun and adventerous to get away from the studies and one day told me we are taking a drive to Warmbad. There we went on an elephant Safari. At the end of the Safari we went for a walk and then an elephant came to me with a shiney round object in a backet around its trunk..Pretty much the perfect engagement ever
We never wanted the perfect wedding we wanted a fun and memorable wedding. Things went wrong but we didnt notice it. One of our best memories is when we opened the dance floor when we walked into the reception hall and everyone joined us, when the DJ played the last song there was still about 40 people on the dance floor, oe and the dessert table with koeksisters and roomhorinkies..
We went to Shandrani Resort in Mauritius where we did a lot of watersports, sipped on Pina Colada's and enjoyed the rest after the big hype.
Our wedding was a warm,cozy look. My makeup was very natural because in general I don't prefer heavy makeup and didn't want to feel like a stranger to myself on my own wedding day. The natural look also worked for me when I decided on a hairstyle. Pearls was my choice of jewellery because, well because you can never go wrong with pearls. To add something new to my something borrowed (veil)and something blue(shoes)I got a hairpiece to finished of my look.
I went with infinity dresses because it is a safe option if you have 6 very unique body types to dress. The burgundy colour was a colour that gave a warm feeling to winter for us and that is why we choose burgundy.

We used Mense met gesigte and loved workingn with them. We took a package that included a photobooth that works with a self timer , our guests had so much fun with it.
Cussonia Crest prepared the cheese tables and main course.
The dessert table was a combination of the mother of the bride and some of our friends that impressed us with their baking skills.
The wedding cake was a family friend who used to own a bakery - a chocolate orange brownie cake - that contained 8kg of Chocolate
Audio Torch was our DJ, we asked for a mixture of golden oldies, sokkie music and latest pop charts.
Our favourite was Zorba the Greek and Samara , it really got the crowd in a party mood. We worked out our own dance to safe some money.
