My favourite part of our wedding day was our first dance at the reception. We danced to one of our favourite songs, Love Natural by Crystal Fighters and had so much fun!
Another highlight was to have the privilege to be married by one of our best friends and to have another two friends lead the worship during the ceremony.
Seeing all of our close friends and family have fun at our wedding was everything that we could wish for and more.
We started our honeymoon at Cape Town 7s on Sunday 10 December :)
On 11 December we left for Greece. After a few days in Athens, we went to Rome. Followed by Florence, Verona and Venice. We walked a total of 110km and saw the most amazing sights.
We arrived back in South Africa on 26 December.
I had a big mishap with my wedding dress and had to find a new one just two weeks before the wedding. Luckily the perfect dress was waiting for me at Ever After Bridalwear. A blush Rebeka Ingram dress which fitted me perfectly. The romantic feel of the dress was complemented by adding some baby's breath flowers in my curly hair and wearing plain rose gold earrings. My makeup and hair was done by Lolla Visser from Nique on Fleek Professional Beauty. After a long search, I found a lovely pair of rose gold shoes that were comfortable and incredibly pretty.
We got married in the beautiful Riebeek Kasteel.
We had our ceremony and reception at Het Vlock Casteel. The venue allows for breathtaking views at the ceremony and a lovely hall with more than enough space for dancing. The coordinators are also wonderful for the full duration. From the moment you have your first meeting with them up until locking up the venue on the night. They are always ready to help and give advice.
I tried to eat healthily in the months leading up to the wedding. I went to a few spa treatments the week before the wedding to hydrate my skin. I also had quite a few massages during the year ;)
We planned all of our decor ourselves.
We hired tablecloths and under plates from Function Hire 4U as well as white candles for the tables. My father made rose gold structures that were placed between the candles. The tables were rounded off with greenery done by Blomakiti. Our Protea Wines also added to the romantic feel of the tables.
Our stationary was designed and done by my husband and me. We had a lot of fun picking out paper and fonts and to see the final product on our tables.
My husband wore a navy suit and tie from Woolworths. He bought ties and tie clips for the groomsmen as well.
My bridesmaid wore a lovely off the shoulder dust pink dress that we found in Foschini. She had a lovely low bun and makeup done by Lolla Visser from Nique on Fleek Professional Beauty.
Our photographer was amazing. His name is Shawn Thomas from The Wedding Journalists. He started his brand only a few months ago, but has been taking photos for more than five years.
Our food was prepared by Linda from HeartWorx.
Our wedding cake was made by Lianti from Twaalf Restaurant, Stellenbosch
We designed all of our stationary ourselves and I did the printing as well.
My husband and I love dancing, so we were very excited to have a huge dance wedding. Our opening dance was very spontaneous and we didn't practice for it at all.
We had a DJ, Riaan Groenewald, who was wonderful and kept everyone on the dance floor all night.
