After meeting my now husband, I’ve been waiting for ten years to marry him. On 15 March 2015 he finally “popped’ the question and we simply could not wait to start planning our big day. My husband took so much stress away from me by helping in every aspect and made sure for our special day to be nothing short of perfect. We worked really hard to make our dream day a reality.
Both of us felt to rather have a weekend wedding as appose to the normal evening event as we wanted to get the most out of this experience. Skipping loads of detail, I finally awoke on our wedding day at the beautiful Morgansvlei Country Estate in Tulbagh overwhelmed by excitement and not a hint of stress. The weather was perfect and the scenery even better!
Spending the morning with my bridesmaids getting ready to walk down the aisle, I could not think of anything other than seeing him, my husband, for the first time.
Guests started arriving and I knew it’s almost time for our “I do’s”. Excitement grew as my father came to fetch and take me to my husband waiting in the most beautiful chapel built in 1710.
As I stepped into the chapel, filled with everyone I love dearest, I could not help but immediately lock eyes with him. Standing there and crying uncontrollably, tears of joy and love for all to see. It felt like the first time we saw each other, joy I cannot put to words. I just knew I was marrying my Mr right!
From very emotional I do’s with the rawest of emotions and lots of laughter, guests proceeded to the reception area for the festivities. With food to die for and dancing the night away I could not help but wish for this day to never end!
Luckily I am left with the most beautiful memories to cherish forever.
