Our wedding was held at the stunning venue Shepstone Gardens in Houghton, Johannesburg. Our vision was all about being true to ourselves and making the wedding as personal as possible. We didn't have a wedding planner so we had to be all hands on for every element we put together.
> We made our decor elements ourselves - copper candleholders that ran all along the tables at different heights on wooden boards sourced by my father.
> All our stationery items were done by a friend, GnT Designs, we sourced the paper ourselves which was all plantable paper that grows flowers. This formed part of our wedding favors as we hand wrote letters to every guest at our wedding (this was a huge hit and everyone appreciated how personal it made the gift). We added little pots for people to plant their letters to grow the flowers.
> We tried to keep the flowers as simple as possible, with no flowers on the tables and only some hanging down from the glass marquee.
> Food is very important to us and we love sharing food, this is why we chose family style meals which were served on wooden boards and big bowls for everyone to dish up from. Our dessert table was done by my best friend, and bridesmaid as a wedding gift and it was an absolute hit.
> All the dresses were made by Renette Short Designs (Durban based) and she absolutely made it all so stunning, from my two dresses to the bridesmaids as well as the flower girls - too amazing.
> Clareece Smit Photography and Barefoot Videography made sure we wouldn't forget a moment of our big day.
> Make-up and hair was also done by close friends Anja Louw (Elite Esthetics) and Natalie Wood (Ruby Hue Artistry).
Everything on the day was a true reflection of our love for each other, our friends and family. Every element represented us and we couldn't have been happier.
