Our wedding day was far more than just a day, it was a festive season, a new year’s eve to a summer holiday! A beautiful build up to a spectacular finale!
Our wedding season brought people together, mended broken relationships and strengthened others. So many beautiful moments we will treasure for a lifetime and the reason why I can't just mention the day...
From making thank you gifts, to baking cupcakes, a bachelor’s weekend and a ridiculous amount of fun at my bridal shower/ bachelorettes day, we couldn’t have been more spoiled and loved during this time by everyone who is close to us!
Our wedding day, as such, was short and sweet. It was simplistic, unconventional and everything we ever could have wanted! It was on Wednesday the 1st of June 2016 at Candlewoods Chapel & Ga Rouge Restaurant and wine cellar in Centurion. It was a practical venue, everything was super close and we had a stunning sunny winters day!
I walked down the aisle at 11:00, my husband’s father (vocals & guitar) and grandmother (piano) played “The Story” by Brandi Carlile as my father escorted me down the aisle. Tears all round, as a moment played out that neither of us will ever forget!
After the Ceremony we walked down with all our guests for some group photos to the restaurant where we did speeches, had a spontaneous first dance to Karen Zoid & Francois van Coke’s song, “Toe vind ek jou” and spent precious time with our closest family and friends!
We left the reception around 16:00 that afternoon to get all our things and leave for our Euro honeymoon!
