Traci Zima

Married on Apr 2, 2016 in Kwa-Zulu Natal

All about the love...

Our wedding was the greatest day of my life! I know every bride says that, but for me it was as if time stopped and everything just seemed like a dream.

When it came down to the details, we weren't fussed about the little things - rather we wanted our day to be natural, happy and full of laughter! And it was so much more than that...
Our suppliers were incredible - they gave us what we wanted and fitted in with our dream perfectly. From the very beginning where David proposed, through planning our day, to booking suppliers and setting up the day before, we just couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear!

Every moment on Saturday was breath taking, even though we set up most of our own things, it was like a big surprise, like we were seeing things for the first time. For us, our wedding was about having a celebration with our family and friends - we didn't want a big price tag to go with unnecessary tidbits that wouldn't be remembered.

We said our vows with the ocean echoing behind us - the most simple setting down at DUC (Durban Undersea Club), supported by hard working and accommodating staff.
The buffet covered everything from poultry, to seafood, to peppered steak and a variety of salads.
We were married by family (my fathers cousins Lynn & Mark DuCasse) which made our ceremony that much more special and intimate.
My dress (from Bride & Co.) was picked by my mother which made it very special.
Our cake was made with so much love by a family friend (Ren Baldocchi).
A gorgeous friend who I used to surf with (Nix Bez from Buttons & Blooms) created a masterpiece of a bouquet,as well as the greenery for our birdcages and table settings.
Our photographer (Craig Manheim - Unprecedented Pictures) was an absolute legend and made us feel so comfortable while snapping our moments.
Our videographers (Elephantsbelly) were a dream, they got all the happiness captured on film.
Our DJ (DJ Peter Lewis) had everyone showing off their moves on the dance floor.

At the end of the night, when we all shuffled into our cabs and headed home, we knew that everyone had full tummies, they were well watered, and the dancing was enough cardio to last them a week!
The happiness that bursts out of our photos and videos are the exact emotions that we wanted all our guests to feel on the day... I'm pretty sure we succeeded in that!
