My Husband and I got married 3 days before our 13 year anniversary, so we had loads of time to plan the perfect day. For us the wedding was not about us, but sharing our union, our past experiences and future adventures while having one huge celebration with our families and friends.
I sourced the most unusual items throughout SA and also internationally. With the help of my bridesmaids, mom and mother in law all the planning ran very smoothly, while we still had loads of fun, making all the hand made gifts and personalizing various items.
We decided against bouquet or garter throws, speeches or any other traditional formalities. Instead LED dancers performed during dinner, Contemporary dancers opened the dance floor
and a caricature kept the guests laughing with his great drawings that they could treasure forever.
We ensured that we kept our guests, adults and children alike, entertained. The wedding started at 2pm and 14 hours later at 4am my husband and I personally greeted the "last men standing".
Finishing touches included printed newspapers with articles on us as a couple, Crossword puzzles, Sudoku, a competition (Who stole the cake topper). We had a write-up on the origin of our surnames. I was a Nell (double L), and hubby Nel (one L).
We also had a 4 tier 3d ice cream cake, each tier a different flavor made by Ola. Focussing on the final touches, we included every design decor elements one could think of included: walkway signs, hangover kits, quirky signs, personalized gifts for the parents, personalized water bottles and personalized tissues.
I know everybody says that their wedding was the best wedding ever, but I can truly state that ours were up there with the best. I am trully the luckiest girl alive. Married to my soulmate and best friend.
A big thank you to all my suppliers and the bridal party!
