On the morning of March 20th 2016, I finally woke up with a rush of excitement of being a bride. Being overwhelmed by so many different emotions, I realised that all the planning was in the past and the most magical day ever had arrived: the start of an exciting future as the new Mrs Saunders.
From the moment Wesley went down on one knee during a sunset game drive and picnic, we both knew what we wanted our wedding day to be like: something small; shared with only our closest friends and family; not-so traditional but true to our relationship of the past 8 and half years.
The theme of our wedding involved trees with a touch of vintage look. The trees symbolized our love: tree branches growing with happiness, compassion and integrity which is rooted with our eternal love. We picked out the most beautiful stone chapel that set an intimate atmosphere while we poured our hearts out to one another with our vows we wrote ourselves – This was the most special moment of the entire day: it was as if it was just the two of us in the chapel and all the guests have momentarily disappeared.
With a not-so traditional wedding the new Mr and Mrs Saunders enjoyed canapés with all the guests before leaving for our small and intimate dinner reception of 20 people in a tree house. Surrounded only with our siblings, parents, grandparents and wedding party, the evening was just magical. No words or photos will ever be able to justify just what a beautiful day it had turned out to be.
Looking back at what led up to be my fairy tale moment, I would not change a thing as I married the man of my dreams and the one whom my soul loves.
