The 5th of March 2016 has finally arrived and I had the privilege to marry and spend the rest of my life with my best friend, Paul Fourie! How lucky am I.
We have a 9 year old son, that we love to death. My husband was a real God send to me and my son. They have the most special bond. I couldn’t have asked for a better husband or father. I thank God each day that he put him on our path.
We got married at Zakopane Country Village in Brits. What a lovely venue.
Green grass, open spaces and trees all around. The Chapel and Reception is build according to horse stables.
The chapel has big windows. The reception was so spacious.
Perfect place for our BIG day.
Sonique Van Den Berg, owner of Roniques Flower & Decor from Rustenburg did my decor exactly as I wanted it. It looked stunning.
I had elegant colours, nothing over the top.
Beautiful soft flowers.
A lot of fairy lights and candles that created a romantic atmosphere.
The main focus for our wedding day was just to enjoy ourselves and giving our friends and family a marvellous time. That meant - short speeches, a lot of beverages, good music, and most importantly, mouth watering, delicious food.
And… after all the formalities, we had to have a lot of dancing and a blast of a party.
Most of the family and friends arrived at Zakopane on Friday. We all relax with a ‘braai’. Everyone chatting and catching up.
Saturday started off with everyone enjoying a lovely breakfast together. We all were so exited for this day, giggling through breakfast. Afterword’s we all scattered off to start preparing.
My bridesmaids was my 2 beautiful sisters and my best friend.
Our hair was done by Marina Kroukamp at Black and Pink Hair and makeup by the Adel Steyn. Both from Rustenburg and totally incredible at what they do.
I could not wait to slip into my wedding dress, created by Corne Lombard.
It was such a surreal moment. My dress was perfectly made for me.
I felt like a princess. It was indescribable!
Samantha Jonker and Tyrone Zerf captured our special moments.
Being with us every step of the way, not missing a shot.
Before I knew it, it was time for our ceremony.
Our Son walked in with a board ‘Pappa hier kom Mamma’. My ‘husband to be’ had to swallow hard on his tears.
I can still remember that I was so nervous waiting outside. Not nervous to get married, but nervous for all the eyes on me.
As I walked in I locked eyes with my future husband - waiting for me, with the wedding march playing in the background. I immediately felt relaxed and was so thankful to share this day with him.
As my dad entrusting his youngest daughter to another man his eyes filled with tears,
but he knew he loved me and will always take care of me.
Our ceremony was done by one of our good friends, Rev. Anet Dreyer Kruger. A message we will always remember.
I really felt like the luckiest woman while we promised to love and honour each other forever.
We devoted our life’s to each other before God, family and friends.
Then the time came to enter our reception.
We and our bridal party danced ourselves into the reception on the tune of ‘Celebration’ by Kool & The Gang.
Just having fun and laughing.
My husband twirled me around and led me to our table.
The incredible chef at Zakoane spoiled our guests with the most amazing food.
We had Gammon with mustard sauce, BBQ chicken, roast veggies, pumpkin fritters with caramel sauce, creamy spinach, baked potatoes ex. It was ‘lekker’.
My sister, also my bridesmaid, and our good friend Anet was our Masters of Ceremonies.
These two woman did a spectacular job.
They entertaining the guest with a story by combining our love story into a ‘Simba & Nala’ from lion king love story. Everyone enjoyed it a lot.
There was sort speeches and the traditional sparkling wine on our parents, but all the guests had a cookies & cream shooter to celebrate us.
Our DJ played the most enjoyable music.
He kept the dance floor going until late.
We had a lot of fun.
Our wedding day was exactly what I hoped for and so much more.
It was undoubtedly one of the best day of our life’s.
