Our wedding day was everything I dreamed it would be. Every moment was filled with joy and happiness. I would not change a thing! Not even the moments that didn’t go according to plan. Like when my veil fell off as soon as I got to the top of the aisle!

Everyone warned me that the day would fly by, I would blink and it would be over…but I must be honest that wasn’t the case… we were so present in each moment, so touched by all the love surrounding us that we felt so calm and happy.

Which is exactly what we wanted form our big day. From day one we said we wanted something fun, relaxed, with good food and the people we love. No drama, no fuss. And that’s what we got. Bellevue Café in Kloof was the perfect venue. Firstly their food is AMAZING every single time, so you can’t go wrong there. But besides that, the staff were spectacular. They went the extra mile in every way possible. They made my pathetic little drawings of what I wanted the restaurant to look like come to life in a way even better than I could have imagined. Talking Flowers, our florist, were brilliant. Affordable and I could trust them to turn my ideas into reality. I don’t know much about flowers, so I passed this over to Norma (who has years and years and years of experience) and she did an amazing job. Our amazing photographer, Micaela De Frietas, captured every special moment so beautifully for us. Her work is breath-taking! All our providers were just wonderful and talented! One of my favourites being my makeup artist, Charelle from Make up by Charelle. I didn’t want the typical bridal makeup and she certainly didn’t give it to me!

It is such a wonderful feeling to be reminded how many wonderful people there are in your life that love and support you. Spending the day surrounded by this feeling could not be any better. It was the perfect day to marry my soul mate. This man is my best friend and the day was a reflection of our relationship, loving, relaxed, and full of laughter! The black and white photo of our first dance towards the end of our gallery is one of my favourites. It perfectly captures how I felt that day and every day with my husband, utterly and completely in love.
