Our love story started in 2009 and 7 years later we have decided to finally tie the knot! The venue was our family farm in Paterson, Eastern Cape. It took us as a family a whole year to prepare our home to welcome 100 guests on our wedding day. The transformation from cattle farm to wedding venue was incredibly difficult but completely worth it. It took all hands on board in the last 7 days to ensure that our home could be called a wedding venue. Our beautiful dogs were our ring bearers and did their jobs perfectly - they even provided some humor in serious moments. Our guests traveled from Colombia, Texas, The Netherlands, Gauteng, Free State and the Western Cape to gather in the Eastern Cape in celebration of two lives being united. The wedding started with a pre-gathering of all our guests on the Friday night for a fun filled Potjie evening. This allowed all our guests to mingle and get to know each other before spending a whole weekend together. Our farm as our neighboring farms accommodated all 100 guests making this the ultimate destination wedding! Our neighbors barn was converted into sleeping space for 20 friends which allowed for a social every night in the build up to the wedding. After so much hard work it all came together to allow for the most intimate and natural wedding. No fuss, no pretending, nothing fancy.. just us celebrating our marriage, at our home, in nature with all our family and friends.
