What happens when you walk into a bar and there is a stranger sitting in your “usual seat”? Well… the short version is, I sat down right next to him and started chatting…and then we got married.
Dieter and I celebrated our love at the breathtaking Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa, in Cape Town, with our wonderful friends and family, both from South Africa, the US, Belgium and the Netherlands, as witnesses. The date, 11 March, was my late father’s birthday and therefore an emotional tribute to both my parents who are no longer with us and whom Dieter unfortunately never got to meet. Our décor was romantic and elegant and we worked with the most wonderful suppliers who created this for us. Our ceremony took place outdoors, in the hotel’s exquisite Fynbos Garden and our couple’s shoot took place with our feet in the water of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Who could ask for more Cape Town beauty….
Our day was filled with emotion, love and a whole heap of fun during the reception. From the moment I walked up the aisle and locked eyes with my wonderful husband to-be, to making all the ladies do “The Locomotion” as part of the bouquet toss, our day was perfect and we created memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives as husband and wife.
