My name is Rhona and my husband is Enriko Klopper. We got married on the 20th of February 2016, in the gardens at Oliewenhuis Art Museum in Bloemfontein, South Africa. It was a wonderful summer's day!
We were on a VERY tight budget (only R70 000) and this meant that a lot of the details were DIY. All the stationery and signage were done by yours truly, as I am a graphic designer. The flowers and centre pieces were done by 2 of my friends and one of my brothers was our master of ceremonies. All the paper flowers in the bouquets and the boutonnieres of the groomsmen were made by me and my bridesmaids. I printed pages from my favourite book, Redeeming Love, and tea-stained them to get the effect of "old books".
Both my parents passed away when I was still in school, so my brothers walked me down the aisle. I included a locket with my parents' wedding photo and the last photo I have of them, in my bouquet. Enriko and I have a son, Caleb, who is almost 2 and he was (naturally) the ring bearer. My sister's 2 children, Dawie and Melize, were the ring security and flower girl, respectively. My sister was, of course, my maid of honour, and Enriko's brother was his best man.
Enriko and I wrote our own vows and made the wedding as personal as possible. The day was filled with love and laughter, good friends and family. It was everything I dreamed it would be...and more!
