I always dreamed of having a destination wedding, with the view of the ocean and a white sandy beach with the closest of people in my life. I can honestly say that my dream came true.
I always wanted a small wedding, so when we started planning I thought The Oyster Box in Umhlanga would be the perfect spot for the kind of wedding we were hoping to create. 80 guests from all over the world made the effort to come and celebrate with Adam and I.
After 9 years of dating my high school sweetheart, the best day of my life finally arrived!
18 months of planning resulted in our dream wedding coming true.
We were luckily enough for the rain to hold out whilst we walked down the isle.
Our ceremony was held in the beautiful gazebo, draped with flowers we had so carefully chosen, and everything was orchestrated so perfectly. It was magical, breathtaking with beautiful scenes of white, green and blue.
Our guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the Oyster bar whilst the family headed off for pictures.
Our reception was held in the Pearl room and leading up the stairs to the reception were incredible lanterns going up each step. The pearl room was breathtaking with the view of the ocean, mirrored ceiling and walls in an all white room. We had the most incredible menu and some of the best food I have ever eaten. We had a traditional cake of four layers, covered in white fondant with a lace design and real hydrangeas that were air brushed. As a thank you gift, each guest got given a cupcake in a lace basket, with a hydrangea in fondant.
For the fun part we had a photo booth with an album where guests could stick a picture of themselves dressed up and write a note to us. We also had a tequilla fountain which was so much fun!
We danced all night - until our feet hurt!
We are so grateful to everyone who made the day as special as it was. We are so blessed and privileged that our dream wedding came true.
We now begin the next chapter of our fairytale.
