After dating for just over 7 years Brian asked me to marry him on a deserted beach in August last year.
It was such a special moment surrounded by nature. As he popped the question a pod of dolphins swum by… A truly magical memory that I will never forget.
Being asked to be someone’s ‘forever’ was a moment I will cherish forever. Making memories is so important and on the day we got engaged, I remember never wanting to leave that moment. But there are many more magical moments to come in our lives.
Our wedding day was one of them, a day I never dreamed would be so special and emotional as it was. Marrying my best friend, lover, soulmate, man of my dreams and getting to share it with our closest friends and family can only be described as incredible.
The ceremony was amazing and Pastor Greg really made it extra special for us. His message for the day was passed not only on to Brian and I, but to our family and friends as well.
After the ceremony we got to share some cocktails and canapes with our guests under a beautiful tree that was decorated with Chinese lanterns, followed by photos by a talented photographer Clinton Stoltz. When we chose a photographer, we wanted them to capture the day’s moments rather than all posed pictures, and Clinton did a great job in making sure we have pictures filled with special moments.
After the photos we headed back into the reception for an opening dance, followed by some amazing Entree’s. Red Ivory Lodge’s venue is so romantic, with glass windows looking out over the setting sun.
The speeches, often dreaded by all, were one of the highlights of the evening. The guys balanced just the right amount of humour and emotion, which had most of the guests going from shedding a tear, to laughing out loud remembering some hilarious moments.
After all the formalities were out the way we then proceeded to have what has been called by a number of our guests as “The Wedding Party of the Century”. The dance floor was always stacked. If anyone is looking for an awesome DJ that knows just what the moment needs, we can highly recommend DJ Kobus. He really rocked on.
Our amazing wedding cake was made by Brian’s sister and included a perfect mockup of our engagement setting with beach sand, my bikini and even the dolphins. Perched on top of the cake were picture-perfect models of our “kids” Mojo an Amstaff & Murdock a labby. Our gifts to our guests was a sweet table filled with delicious treats to take home in Hello Kitty and Super Hero bags.
We really lived in the Now on our wedding day which I will remember as a day filled with so much love, laughter and fun shared with the most important people in our lives.
