On the 18th of November 2016 I married the love of life, my best friend and rock - Jaques.
The journey to that day was not an easy one as I decided to organise my own wedding being more than 10 000km away in Europe. But totally worth it.
Our Special day started with a rush - to get the venue decorated and everything ready. All my family and bridesmaids were there to help.
After that it was time to get ready. The makeup artist and hairdresser were already at our hotel to do our makeup and hair. I could finally breathe and then only really realised... it is my wedding day!
It finally hit me when I was sitting in my wedding dress, had my veil on and ready to go while reading a message from my Maid of Honour, who unfortunately could not make it to the wedding. Words cant really describe what I felt, it was a mixture of different feelings, happy to spend the rest of my life with Jaques, sad that my dear friend could not be with me at this very moment while all at the same time: nervous and anxious to experience the day and so much more...
The Weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding. The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze to keep things cool.
The DJ was playing WestLife's ‘Beautiful in White’ while the bridesmaids were walking down the aisle... Then the bell rang! Time for me to take the steps towards the gazebo, where my future husband was waiting.
Our Ceremony was sweet and quite emotional.- I have never been so emotional in my life as reading my wedding vow or listening my now husband read his. Apparently all the guest shared a tear or two.
Our reception was at the same venue. As I am Estonian, I tried to bring in some of the Estonian wedding traditions into the mix, which made the reception a bit unique and fun. The Best Man and MC did an excellent job with everything from the toasts to getting everyone at the dance floor.
We even had a short and sweet line dance lesson and everyone was on the dance floor.
My wedding day was very special and full of different emotions. I wish I could experience it once more to really take in every moment as it flew by so fast. But the main thing is that now I am married to the man I love and look forward to spending the rest of my life with him.
