Our wedding day was exceptionally special and intimate. It took us an entire month to plan! :) We simply could not decide on a date but eventually chose October to celebrate our new beginning in a season of new beginnings (plus, my birthday is in October so it's a pretty special month already ;p).
We were married by my family pastor in a small chapel on a very windy Friday afternoon in Port Elizabeth. I arrived 30 minutes late, not because I was a late bride (I was 30 minutes early and waiting for my ride), but because my chauffeur drove at snail pace to avoid having the balloons fly off the front of the car! The ceremony was short but sweet and we were so grateful to everyone who pulled together to make it a special and unforgettable day for us.
Our reception was small with everyone seated at one large table. We had a candy station with all of our favourite childhood treats and the most delectable cupcakes imaginable. We stayed true to our personality and decided on a Macadamia Nut Cheesecake (from Bocadillos) as our wedding cake and it was THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!!!! The food was scrumptious, the company was entertaining, but best of all was the fact that I had married my best friend and my favourite person in the entire world! <3
Needless to say, my wedding day was not what I imagined or dreamed it to be, it was so much better!!
