Our very own farm wedding...

Our story is not one of love at first sight, nor is it one of friendship turning into love, ours is one that only required one date, one movie, and one goodnight kiss to ensure a bond, marriage and friendship that will never be broken. On 11 April 2015 Ziets went down on one knee and asked me to become his wife. 18 months later the big day finally arrived. During the hustle and bustle of the wedding morning, excitement was building in me as I knew the time to meet my best friend at the alter was quickly approaching. My hair was pretty and curly, my make-up was subtle and natural, my nails were pretty in pink and all that was left to do was for me to step into my princess dress. The emotions were overwhelming as I put on my veil to head to the chapel. As the doors to the chapel opened, my eyes were locked on my soon-to-be husband. I walked down the aisle to the song "Ek sal" by Adam Tas and Andriette - it was the perfect song for that moment. We had written our own vows and after making our promises to one another, we were pronounced husband and wife. We were greeted by friends and family by a shower of pink and white rose petals as we exited the chapel. It was finally time for our once-in-a-lifetime photo-shoot. Walking into the reception hall, we were overwhelmed with joy to see how our DIY wedding came together - from flower arrangements to guest favors - we enjoyed putting in the love and effort our special guests deserved. It was such a special day - definitely one that will forever play over and over in our memories - the day we said "I Do"
