My wedding was one of my greatest achievements filled with lots of emotions and meaningful moments. It represented my husband and I as individuals and reflected our background providing traditional elements with a modern twist.
We organized our wedding within nine months and decided on every detail together. One of the items on the list that we disagreed upon was the decor. Fortunately I married a man with good taste and a honest opinion. In the end I was lucky to be gifted with a candelabra that I was crying for.
No one knew about my BIG secret. But it took everyone by surprise especially when my husband's uncle literally fell head over hills on my incomplete wedding gown.
The best part of our wedding was when a proud woman of God; my mother gave me away to my life partner. It felt like I was transformed from a young woman to a modest lady. With tingles of anticipation flowing through my body, looking into my husband's eyes and falling in love all over again, I knew that this was not just legal alliance, but a spiritual union. As 120 guests witnessed our ceremony, we took communion together and poured sand to symbolize two entities becoming one in God's presence.
While tears of appreciation were shared to close family and friends in heart felt speech, dinner and dance. The heavens released showers of blessings after a long season of drought.
In conclusion, our wedding was a life changing experience. The amount of effort we put in paid off, not just on the day, but it improved our relationship on so many levels and emphasized character growth. I cannot wait to have a little one in honour of our marriage!
