Anél Potgieter

Married on Oct 29, 2016 in Western Cape

Graceful love (beautiful words by Samantha Clifton)

This beautiful Seaside Soirée with every detail carefully chosen by the bride herself, was not just about having a pretty wedding. The beauty of the day and all the intricate details was very important to Anél because she wanted to showcase how magnificent & perfect this moment was for her and Jaco in their hearts. Graced by the magic of the golden hour and her ideas for her fashion wedding; moments of pure evocative beauty blessed their special day.

Anél’s forever dream of getting married on the beach was realised and Cape Town graced us with her beauty as the sun’s golden rays washed over Blaauwberg beach.

Grace is love that seeks you out when you have nothing to give in return. Grace is love coming at you; that has nothing to do with you. ~ Paul F. M. Zahl ~

Anél look absolutely ravishing in her Bridal Allure gown and with small touches of various floral designs as part of her bridal accessories this fashionista bride looked like she stepped right out of a magazine.

Life has a way of throwing us curve balls and most relationships aren’t easy; but their story is one that had many twists & turns. The beauty however lies in the fact that their love has been graced to BE , even when at times it didn’t ever seem like it could. The beauty of this grace was excellently translated into the intricate flower designs that formed part of their day. Each flower representing the grace and elegance, sweetness and poetic romance of their love for each other.

Coastal bliss

"If kisses were leaves, I would give you a forest. If love was water, I would give you the OCEAN."

We always had moments. Special moments. Romantic moments. NOW we have time. This long distance relationship have crossed twelve years, many countries, continents and lifespans to finally reach a happily ever after.

Our special day took place during the heart of the spring season at Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town. It was a beautiful sunshine day surrounded by a backdrop of the world wonder Table mountain, together with the Atlantic ocean's crashing waves and golden Lagoon beach.

All the elements of our wedding was planned ourselves. I have a great passion for all things modern and beautiful in life. Beautiful elements of the flower designs, decor, food and stationary was very important to me.

We were spoiled and blessed with two of the most talented wedding service providers anyone could have asked for:

Jeanette Heyns Coetzee from Paramithi : Coordination, Flowers & Decor knew my exact style and made all my childhood flower dreams a reality. I am a flower child from nature and this was the biggest element of the wedding. Flowers have such an incredible way of making us happy and feel loved - it was this exact love that i wanted our family and friends to experience while they were celebrating with us in our love for each other. An enormous circle-shaped floral arch featured beautifully in the background during the ceremony. This was definitely a one-of-it's-kind floral arch and has never been used before for weddings in South Africa. I am so extremely proud to have had such an experienced and sophisticated floral designer. A wide range of only the most beautiful flowers in the world have been used in the many different flower decorations : Precious peony roses, Juliette garden roses, O'Hara Garden roses, blush pink tulips, orchids, lisianthus, hydrangeas and other pretty greenery was used to light up the atmosphere.

Jeanette's dynamic, patient and organized personality meant the world to me as she helped with coordinating all the decor as well. The color schemes for our wedding was Navy blue, Blush pink and a glitz of gold. Hundreds of candles ranging from all shapes and sizes were set alight to create the perfect magical ambience complimenting the flowers. Golden underplates and navy blue napkins made the delicious and modern food looking more delicious than ever before.

Samantha Clifton, our incredible talented photographer made sure that we would be remembering this most amazing day in our lifes until the end of time. Her passion for detail, glamour, art and fashion had our eyes wandering for more and more since our wedding day photos were revealed on her famous blog. Not only can she perform magical things through the eyes of her camera lenses, but she also has many other inspiring skills such as editorial writing and styling. Being a people's person made it real easy for us to maintain good communication with her before, during and after our wedding. It is so important to feel comfortable with your wedding photographer. Thank you Sam for creating miracles in capturing true emotions and creating beautiful high art fashion inspired portraits of ordinary, everyday people like us.

We had a late afternoon ceremony and had an intimate and romantic 58-guest wedding. At the end of the day, the real reason for our wedding had everything to do with the love between two people. We celebrated our special and magical love for each other and made an oath in front of God and our closest friends and family to never let this burning fire of love, companionship and friendship die. We are so blessed to have been surrounded with our favorite people whom we could share our special day with.
