From the day that met I my husband, I knew that there was something very special about him...Gosh we were so young but yet sooo inlove. I was 15 , Shane 18. And from then on it was a whirlwind journey of getting to know each other and falling in love. We did break up but after 6 years apart growing up and maturing somehow life brought us back together. And since then the years that we have spent together have been nothing but fun, full of challenges but most important love and friendship. We can honestly say that we are the best of friends and I could not imagine my life without him.
When Shane asked me to marry him, it was the best day of my life. I could not have imagined that he was ever going to propose – and on-top of Lions head during a sunset walk. Everything was perfect. We were so perfect for each other. We spent a year planning for our big day, with all our amazing friends and family involved,. We laughed together through it all and had fun doing it. Yes of course there were challenges along with being scammed off my wedding dress and disagreements but what made it all work was our ability to compromise and in the end we had the most incredibly, magical amazing day of our life
From the moment I woke up on the day of our wedding I felt at ease – well I hoped to think so until I saw my mom-in-law Arlene Lloyd drop off my beautiful bouquet and corsages for my bridesmaids that she had made, then I knew at that point this is all soo real and happening – finally. Knowing that I would soon be Mrs Venter, married to the man of my dreams, my best friend, my whole world. I was able to take in all the special moments with my beautiful mother in law and bridesmaids during all the morning preps.
Before I knew it, it was time.... All dressed and ready to go I seriously felt like a princess I even had a moment of tears on how perfect I Looked, not only because of all the make-up but how perfect and privelaged I was to be wearing my mother in laws dress. Arm in arm with my matured young brother, I walked down the aisle to meet my ‘Lovebug’. There was so much emotion it was unbelievable and impossible not to shed a tear. Even Shane standing waiting for me broke out in tears – I must say its amazing to see a man react that way, it can only be good tears. Saying " I Do" was the moment it all became real and that was incredible.
Our wedding day was absolutely unforgettable. Having our incredible friends and family there to share in the joyous occasion and have fun with us as newly-weds was just the best thing that we could have ever asked for. Every aspect of our day was excellent, our ceremony and reception were both so magical with such a quirky humorous service, the décor was breath taking, amazing food, a great DJ/singer and the photographers were brilliant. A very important thing for that our wedding was so casual yet fun and enjoyable.
30 January 2016 will forever be a day that will be cherished in our hearts – It truly was the best day of my life.
Words cannot describe how thankful we are to each and every single person that was involved in making our wedding and the whole experience so amazing. That too includes our service providers who went beyond their expectations.
Sitting here thinking back – I still get goosebumps when I think about this day, our day could not have been anymore perfect than what it had turned out to be.
