We wanted a rustic type of venue without having the same type of wedding most people choose the past year or so. So instead of going for that typical vintage theme, we decided on having our wedding in Cullinan. This small town just outside Pretoria was the perfect setting for a unique, rustic looking wedding- and what a wonderful venue ticking all the boxes for the decor, food and reception area we were hoping for in planning a unique, exciting party-type wedding.
The majority of our guest list consisted of friends, which made the type of wedding and chosen venue ideal for hosting friends. The reception was awesome with a meal based on the idea of a picnic- what a unique idea for a social meal! Each table received a picnic basket with finger foods and small platters.
My idea for a unique wedding also led me to the design and making of my own table decor, stationery and odd decor around the venue. These ideas for my decor complimented the eccentric and rustic venue and setting as well as the whole bridal party's outfits and our outfit.
I always wanted a lace wedding dress, and when I found the dream dress, I planned all my accessories, make-up and hairstyle in such a way to fit my idea of a sophisticated look and to compliment the dress as highlight.
