Brandon and I met a little over 4 years ago. Fast forward to 09 May 2015... it was an overcast day, rain was predicted but somehow the sun managed to break through the clouds providing just enough sunlight to brighten any day.
Brandon packed a basket - sushi, wine, crackers and droewors - all my favourite treats and off we went to one of our favourite spots, Kirstenbosch Gardens. Ever seen a grown man shake like a leaf but it ain't cold? Giggle, that was Brandon as he got down on one knee, holding out the most beautiful diamond ring, whispering, "will you marry me?" My word, he was so nervous! Before I could even answer, the ring was on my finger. Gosh, it was a perfect day, a beautiful moment, a blessed couple.
Brandon and I decided to wed on the 5th September. Why? The number five symbolises God's grace, goodness and favour - the only reason that he and I are still together. We have been through a lot in such a short period of time. And September, well, we are now The September's. After seeing that the 5th September fell on a Saturday - we knew, that was OUR DAY!
We got married, on a beautiful summer's day, in spring at Suikerbossie Restaurant in Hout Bay. There was no wind, no rain, no nothing as the weatherman predicted, but pure sunshine, as if heaven was smiling down on us.
Our wedding was more than we could have asked for.
