Our Wedding Day was a true Celebration of Our Love with Family and Friends!
It all started with a visit to our home town in the beginning of February 2015. We meet up with our photographer, viewed our venue and I even tried on a dress with my mom and best. That weekend we left thinking we'll get married next year, now just isn't the right time.
When March 2015 came around we had set a date with much excitement as we planned to get married in our home town, Port Elizabeth on the 31 October 2015. Venue and Photographer booked! The Incredible Photographer, Ronaldo, phoned us to say that it was the Rugby World Cup on this date and would this date still work. My mom a multi talented women said lets make it work, lets screen it at the reception while we taking photos, however due to time differences this would not work. Suprise our new date was the 5 September 2015 :) That left us exactly 6 months!
The fun began! My mom was a wonder woman wedding planner, as she lives in Port Elizabeth. She planned everything down to the last dot on the i do ;) Together with my grandpa, granny and brides maid the four of them made all the decor and planned every second of the day and who needed to do what and when.
As a bride to be not in town where you are to married, it is very stressful as I wanted to be very involved, my mom gave many a phone call of reassurance that it would all be ok. So my duties where to eat well, train my butt off, tan and find a dress :) (I did the online nitty grittys with the stationery company etc)
Each visit home was more and more exciting leading up to the wedding. Eventually it was the time to start our final road trip to get hitched :) We spent the week apart with our own families. This was a very special time and we are both happy we did as we were so excited to see each other on our big day!
The 5 September 2015 arrived, a night well rested with my brides maids, perfect weather kicked off the day on a fabulous note! My mom was a beaut on the day, she set up everything, got her hair did and dressed me with the biggest smile on her face.
Our day started with Rev Kenneth leaving us in stitches of laughter, tears and love. He set the mood for the day and that was of love and happiness. We were so celebrated by family and friends with love and laughter. Our day was magical and we can both look back and say we truly enjoyed and took in every single second of it.
We have always believed that a good MC, speeches, food and wine makes a good wedding. Now we can happily say that we had all of the above. Lots of dancing and fun was had by all.
Looking back we wouldn't change a thing even the goodies that didn't go exactly to plan, we would do it all over again exactly the same (over and over again) :) <3
Our Motto for our big day was:
A wedding is a party, not a performance.
If at the end of the day you are married to the one you love,
then everything went perfectly.
When I look back I know I had my dream come true wedding.
Dress, hair, make up, venue, photographer, videographer, decor, wine all I as wished for.
But mostly I married the man of my dreams and now very proudly get to call him my husband <3
