There’s so much to be said about marrying the man who tells you on your first meeting that “one day I will marry you” but then words cannot describe the absolute bliss and happiness that was actually felt on this particular day.
I couldn’t have asked for more on a perfect Winter’s day…today the love of my life and I were going to join our lives together in front of our most cherished family and friends.
I thought I would be drained and exhausted given the fact that I was running on about 4 hours broken sleep…but the excitement and adrenaline kept me alive and ready to go. Leading up to the ceremony I was rather impatient, I just wanted to walk down that isle and shout out yes to the world that I do take this man as my husband.
The nerves kicked in about 30 minutes before show time, walking to the chapel from the room was nerve wrecking…I was shaking from head to toe. This all seemed to dissipate when I saw my future standing at the alter…with a glimmer of a potential tear shedding on the horizon.
From the actual ceremony that was short and sweet with the message of love and togetherness shared with all to the photographs (try getting a big family of Chinese people together was something else) to the speeches…everything fell into place as planned. After getting all the formalities out of the way…party party party.
With the laughter, dancing and craziness behind us…it is the memories that will last us a lifetime that will be the start of a beautiful life together.
I am not one to shed a tear, however, my wedding day is probably one for the records books of my life. It was such an emotional day…from shedding a tear walking down the aisle to crying non-stop while dancing with my dad.
If I had the choice to do it all over again...from start to finish…there’s no hesitation to say a huge resounding YES!!
