25 April 2015, arguably the most beautiful day one can imagine…
From my exquisite wedding gown, through to the crimson backdrop as the sun set at the close of our photo shoot in the late afternoon, everything was truly perfect.
Roan and I tied the knot in Paarl, Western Cape, at the Ashanti Estate. We got engaged the previous November and every second leading up to our special day was an exciting upward swirl of emotion & excitement. With only 6months to get all arrangements set, we had our work cut out.
We managed to secure the date for April, even though Ashanti is such a sought after venue… Maybe just another nudge to emphasise that we are meant to be!
The style and tone of our Wedding Day was based on my life long dream of having a uniquely different wedding, bearing away from old traditional ways.
We managed to do so and it was fantastic. Our dress code was Modern Vintage, with a Touch of Gold… My Wedding Dress.., Blush Pink.
We were blessed with a very personal and intimate Ceremony by the Pastor from our Home Town Hermanus, Christo van Niekerk.
As we exited the Wedding Chapel, we were showered with Hydrangea Confetti and accompanied by legions of White & Gold helium balloons that were set of into the windless skies.
Underneath the 300+ year old Oak Tree by the dam, our guests were drenched in Villiera Bubbly, Seven Springs Wines and CraftBeer, all the while listening to The French Duo from 5Th Ave. The setting, the guests, the Accordion & Violin… Fairytale.
To try and explain the Canapés is like trying to attempt Anna Pavlova’s “The Dying Swan”… Really not possible. The chefs at Café Arez are exceptional!
Then came the celebration…
Our flower arrangements, music and food was a definite highlite and the night carried us away to close off a Perfect Day.
