Rock 'n Roll! That was the theme to our wedding. The reason for this was because we fell in love with each other over our mutual love for music, especially rock 'n roll. The primary flower that we chose was a black rose, symbolizing the end of something old and the beginning of something new. Apart from the unique choice in flowers and theme we chose a wedding venue that highlighted another part of our relationship - our mutual love for nature. Magalies Park provided us with Mountains as a backdrop, a river with Hyacinths as an extra touch of colour, and a fairy-forest atmosphere that made the day almost magical.
During our photos session, entertainment was provided to our guests by means of a quiz led by our DJ. The quiz was not only compiled out of music from our lives as a couple, but also rock 'n roll questions (afterwards we heard that the guests enjoyed this the most).
Once we entered the reception the speeches began; bringing everyone to tears and laughter as our MC and Best friends spoke kind words. Then it was my turn. As the bride you don't necessarily get the chance to say much of anything to your guests, but I felt that I needed to take the stand for a moment as I presented one of my friends with a gift for their first wedding anniversary that following day. Thereafter my husband took the stand and was welcomed with over 30 men giving him their "support" during his speech.
The night ended with dancing and laughter as music echoed throughout the lapa and fairy lights glittered around us! As a farewell a guard of honour was made with sparklers sending us off to our happily ever after. It was a truly magical night!
