Rohan proposed in 2014 and it has been a beautiful time just planning and going through ideas, venues, service providers, outfits, music with him being involved every step of the way. We wanted the simplicity, yet beauty of a religious ceremony in a Hindu temple, but still have the fancy touches of a catered wedding with beautiful decor and subtle western touches. We were married on an overcast Sunday afternoon at 2pm at Palm Ridge Temple in Alberton, the most majestic temple in Johannesburg in my opinion. Rohan and I coordinated our outfits and to me.. we were Bollywood Rani and Raja (King and Queen) for the day. We had a traditional Hindi ceremony for an hour, followed by a simple gold and white themed reception dinner. We had a beautiful gold and white cake with a hindu bridal couple cake topper that resembled us. All our guests were without shoes (which was lovely) and they had the ceremony steps explained to them, which made everything even more meaningful. The food was divine and the joy on our faces lasted for weeks after the wedding. It was not just our wedding day.. it was the success we saw when the events of the day fell into place. He is my best friend, my confidante and my eternal love. All the money in the world could not have made us choose our guests, our venue, our outfits or our rings any diferently.. as we knew what we wanted and it turned out to be perfect for us!
