Reinhardt and I were married on 15 March 2015 at the beautiful Morell’s Boutique in Northcliff.
We opted for a small intimate wedding and by small I mean 20 of our closest friends and family.
We both decided we would rather have a Sunday morning ceremony followed by a luncheon where we could all spend quality time together and celebrate the occasion. We knew the day would be one filled with emotion, both Reinhardt and I have fathers that have passed on but our amazing family and friends made the day special for us by being there, they cried with us when we were heart sore and laughed with us when we were happy, all the reminiscing made those we wished were there in person be remembered in spirit.
Most girls dream of their wedding day but I didn't. I just knew I wanted to find real love and when Reinhardt and I met and started dating, my soul smiled, he was the one, my one, my “big bunny”.
We decided that the understated elegant look is what we wanted on the day our wedding, we chose the colour scheme of creams, ivory, gold and a dash of pink to complement our already romantic venue. We wanted to make everyone fall in love- with themselves, with love, with each other.
I was apprehensive and kept saying I could see myself falling down the aisle, my mother then told me that my wedding was a day of celebration. It wasn’t a performance and things didn’t have to go perfectly, everyone was there to celebrate love and the union of two people. My mom was right. She always is. I didn’t fall down *happy dance*.
Our marriage ceremony was personal, heart warming and the words spoken on that day will never be forgotten. Our marriage officer gave a beautiful service that spoke to each one's heart.
The luncheon reception was filled with French music and the clinking of crockery and cutlery as we sat down to a perfectly set table with blooming flowers followed by a pianist who helped create an unforgettable ambiance. The speeches were humorous, touching and honest- we were all left emotional when my handsome groom found himself holding back tears as he spoke.
Our suppliers were amazing! I met the most beautiful souls whilst making arrangements for our wedding day and this experience was filled not only with laughter and heartfelt talks but led to the forging of friendships.
Morrell’s Boutique embodies all that is French, romance, elegance and luxury. We wanted our guests to feel the day was about us all, without them we would not be who we are today, and ensured we chose a venue that would do just that. The staff were all so friendly and professional. Our wedding coordinator, Chantellé was helpful and understanding, she helped quell all wedding jitters and made sure our day ran smoothly in all respects. The food was delicious, the macaroons, the best we’ve ever had and the venue could not have been more sublime with its picturesque scenery and decorations.
Our photographers, Splendid Productions are simply wonderful! Heleen and Gottfried are quirky and fun, they capture each moment in such a way that you relive the day just by looking at a photograph. They make you feel comfortable and their attention to detail is unbelievable.
“Made up by Janna”, Janna Stone is a phenomenal lady! She is a true artist who made me feel and look my best, her work is simply perfection. I loved my hair and make-up.
Secret Diary designed all of our wedding stationery, such a wonderful team who made each piece of our stationery with love and creativity.
Reinhardt was actively involved in the choosing of the wedding cake- he wanted to make sure it was tasty and the Cake Diva, Riana de Bruin worked her magic, our cake was beautifully made and tasted even better.
My mother made my stunning veil. Her time, effort and love could be seen in her work and I shall pass it on to my daughter, should I be blessed enough to have one some day.
I not only have the memories of my wedding day but I have a lifelong best friend in my husband who I can share them with.
As much as I wanted a beautiful wedding when I got engaged, I knew I wanted more than that. I wanted a marriage more beautiful than my wedding.
I am the luckiest lady because I’ve never been happier. My husband gave me a wedding that far exceeded any dream and a marriage that makes me appreciate and be grateful for all that I have for it is a blessing.
Special thanks to each and everyone of my guests and my awesome suppliers
