The deal is sealed. I am now officially Mrs Tlhotlhalemajoe – or Mrs T for those with lazy tongues!
It was the perfect day a day that I had planned and dreamed of for months. For February 28, in Stellenbosch, the weather couldn’t have been any better – hot but manageable and pleasant. I got dressed with my mom, sister, sister in law and mother in law. I couldn’t have asked for a better team by my side. The lead up to the event was fun, exciting yet calm, we even had time for some bubbly and lunch, while we joked like little girls at a tea party – the excitement in the room was infectious.
From the very beginning of our engagement Sello and I talked about how we wanted our wedding. It was to be one where every single person we loved and cared about could be with us to celebrate our love and the future we planned together. We wanted to have the biggest party of our lives….surrounded by all the people we loved. Well it was that and so, so, so much more.
The venue - Nooitgedacht because of its beautiful romantic garden setting. The ceremony took place under the 100yr old oak tree which we felt was a true symbol of our solid relationship with deep Christian roots. It hit me as I stood there on the altar, how incredibly blessed I am. To look around and see the faces of nearly every true friend and family member who we cared about, witnessing this day and making it as memorable as it was. Beside me my sister and best friend, in the front row my parents who have shown me nothing but unconditional love and in front of me the man of my dreams – the carbon copy of every fairy tale I had read. God has truly blessed me and this day.
The cellar was transformed into a wonderland of beauty with orchids, hanging crystals and clean crisp décor. I had planned most of it but nothing prepared me for the transformation – thanks to Gerrit from Royal Blu events.
The evening ended and although it went by very fast as so many have told me it would.
Sello and I had made a consciously decision to enjoy every second to relax and have fun it was a day that came around once and we were determined to smile all through it.
It is a bit hard to explain in words the depth of love I felt that day, but it is something I will never forget and it was all possible because of the wonderful people that we surrounded ourselves with on that day.
I would also like to thanks all my suppliers a dream team who made the day a magical experience: Greg Lumley - Photography, Nooitgedacht Venue, Royal Blu - Gerrit Snyman and team, De La Vida Bridal Couture - wedding dress, Benjamin Adams London - bridal shoes, The photobooth company, Lance - The MC Lance.
