I was fortunate enough to marry my high school sweet heart after dating for more than 8 years.
We got married on the 19th of December after getting engaged on the 14th of July.
The day started with hair and make up for my two bridesmaids in preparation for the traditional Islamic wedding. The Nikkah (wedding) took place in the Mosque of Saldanha, with all the men in tow. I waited with my Bridesmaids and other woman from both sides of the family at our house during the wedding as this is the way Islamic weddings take place.
After the Nikkah my husband, Ashraf - Ali, put on my wedding ring preceding a small breakfast for family and guests.
We left to Masada guest house in Langebaan, in our wedding car, a white Chrystler stretch limousine, where we changed out of our traditional wear and into our second outfit for the day, the impeding wedding reception at Longacres Wine Estate.
My wedding dress was a Sara Dress from Maggie Sottero Collection.
The reception was short and sweet as I wanted to get my groove on! The Wedding cake was made by Wade's Cakes in Rondebosch, a three tier, ivory iced, with red velvet, lemon and poppy seed and chocolate mint tiers.
I'm the end it was the most memorable day of our lives. All the planning and sleepless nights preparing all the favours for the guests was all worth while.
I'd like to give a special thank you to my photographers Jeanne and Carla of BlueCheri for the breathtaking pictures they took of the day.
